Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Fresh pasta
  • Tiramisu

In the heart of Messina, I’ll take you on a journey to discover the secrets and flavours handed down by the grandmothers of yesteryear. I’ll welcome you into my kitchen and together we’ll prepare a delicious tiramisu, before turning our attention to fresh pasta: ravioli, tagliatelle or spaghetti, made with the same love and care that my grandmother taught me. Whilst we wait for the pasta to cook, I’ll offer you an aperitif to enjoy alongside a glass of local Prosecco DOC. You’ll take with you, on your journey and in your heart, a little piece of my story, my cooking and my beloved city.

We had a fabulous time with Stefania and her family. They made us feel right at home. She made preparing the food so easy (I am not a cook and I did it!) and the meal was excellent. I would suggest not eating anything prior to this class. I would definitely book it again and recommend this to everyone. Thank you so much Stefania for an excellent experience!

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Stephania. Her daughter, Georgi, acted as interpreter while her husband, Franco worked in the kitchen cleaning up and ensuring we had drinks. Stephania and her family were very welcoming hosts and made us feel comfortable in their home. We made a fabulous tiramisu using an old family recipe and then we made fresh fettuccine and ravioli. The sauces which we had with the pastas were simple but extremely delicious. We highly recommend this experience.

This was a wonderful, intimate, authentic, family cooking experience. One of the highlights of my Euro trip. Stefania and Giorgia made the experience truly personal and made us feel welcome and at home. We learned to make 2 pastas, tiramisu and received tasty bites, wine and a to-go gift at the end. It was such a welcoming family experience and I learned to make the tastiest tiramisu I have ever had! This is a must do experience!

We had an absolutely amazing experience at this cooking class! We learned how to make fresh pasta and tiramisu from scratch, and everything turned out delicious. The entire experience was fun, hands-on, and so well organized. What made it even more special was the wonderful family who hosted us. Everyone helped make us feel welcome, shared their knowledge and traditions, and created such a warm, friendly atmosphere. It truly felt like an authentic Sicilian experience rather than just a cooking class. If you’re looking to enjoy incredible food, learn traditional recipes, and experience genuine Sicilian hospitality, we couldn’t recommend this enough. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and we’ll definitely remember it for years to come! Thank you for accepting us into your beautiful home!

We had a lovely and personal experience with Stefania. Together with her husband, Franco, they were very hospitable and eager to introduce us to making tiramisu, ravioli, and another pasta dish. Their daughter was also present and translated the Italian into English for us. After making the pasta, Franco and Stefania went to the kitchen to prepare the food, and we were served very well. We were given all kinds of appetizers and red wine. It was fully equipped with every convenience! The ravioli and pasta were also prepared very well! We really got a glimpse into traditional Sicilian cuisine. We highly recommend this experience to others!

Raised alongside my maternal grandmother, I have nurtured a passion for cooking since I was a child, guided lovingly by my Nonnina and her treasured recipes. I cook to bring back the flavors and aromas of Messinese and Sicilian tradition, ancient yet still alive within me: from pesce stocco alla ghiotta to carefully prepared meat rolls, all made according to the recipes passed down through my family. My home is always open—not only to friends, but also to guests from other countries, with whom I enjoy sharing a chat and preparing together the precious family recipes.
