Follow your Cesarina in a local market tour and challenge yourself with a hands-on cooking class

Private Experience
Your experience
  • Glass of prosecco and tasting of artisanal sauces with products from the garden and jams on toasted bread
  • On returning home, other small seasonal appetizers, preparation of fresh egg pasta in Bigoli format, if possible seasoned with two types of different sauces
  • Typical dessert of our city "Buccellato" fried, fresh fruit, if in season, peaches in wine: a tradition of our grandparents

The experience involves a visit to an organic farm that uses its own land's produce to craft unique sauces with vegetables, fruits, and flowers, expertly combined. Depending on the weather, we will enjoy an outdoor aperitif while tasting these products.

Upon returning home, we'll taste organic vegetables or other seasonal appetizers. We'll prepare homemade pasta with different cereal flours, noticing the significant flavor differences. We'll dress the pasta with a variety of homemade sauces. We'll also explore other aspects of our rich culinary tradition, such as the importance of extra virgin olive oil, wholemeal flours, and organic tomatoes, all accompanied by an excellent prosecco.

Monica was a last minute switch for us as our original chef became sick the day before our class. We couldn’t have asked for a better teacher and guide to Italian cuisine. We took this class while on our honeymoon, and it was one of our favorite experiences during our three weeks in Italy. She and her husband were both incredibly warm and inviting, and made us feel like part of their family. We felt that we got much more than just a cooking class, but also an introduction and welcome into Italian culture. We will absolutely be returning when we come back to Italy.

I am the travel advisor who booked Gayle and her sisters’ cooking class. I have just heard from Gayle, and she raved about the wonderful experience you provided for them. Thank you so much for all of your efforts!

Monica and her husband welcomed us in her home and had a lovely family dinner with us. We made two fresh pastas that were delicious. Besides the pasta, they had prepared different food for us to taste. Unfortunately we did not make tiramisu but overall it was a great experience!

Monica and her husband Paulo were superb hosts. We had a very enjoyable, entertaining and authentic Tuscan culinary experience. Monica was an excellent teacher both in describing verbally and demonstrating what we were required to do. Our engagement in choosing the produce and dishes we cooked plus trying the fruit and herbs from Monica’s garden also added to the experience. We would have no hesitation in recommending to our friends

Mónica is a lovely woman. She is kind and generous with her time and resources. She is a very good ambassador for the food of Lucca and Tuscany.
