Giacomo

I am originally from Cervia, but I moved to Rimini at the age of 25, and I have been living in Santarcangelo di Romagna for over 15 years, just a few kilometers away from Rimini and the sea. Santarcangelo is a lively inland town, full of commercial and dining activities, with a historic center particularly appreciated for its architecture and scenic beauty.I decided to dedicate myself full time to my lifelong passion: traditional and popular Romagna cuisine.Today, I am a professional sfoglino (pasta maker) for some famous local restaurants, and I enjoy experimenting with the many and varied local ingredients to create the best flavors.I love sharing my passion and my continuous search for excellent local raw materials with my friends and everyone who wants to experience the surprising sensations of Romagna cuisine. For this reason, I decided to open the doors of my home to the guests of Cesarine, confirming the hospitality of our territory, Romagna!

We had the most amazing experience with Giacomo and Alex and genuinely couldn’t recommend this cooking class enough! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. It really did feel less like a formal cooking class and more like being welcomed into someone’s home for an evening with friends. Giacomo is a professional fresh pasta chef and his knowledge absolutely shines through. He was incredibly patient, friendly and such a brilliant teacher. He taught us how to make two different types of fresh pasta (one with eggs and one without) and then showed us how to cut and shape them in so many different ways, explaining what each shape is traditionally used for along the way. We learned so much without the experience ever feeling rushed or overly technical. It was also so much more than just making pasta. Giacomo prepared gorgeous starters for us, along with delicious sauces to accompany the pasta we had made, and then me and my partner sat at the table to enjoy the meal we had helped to prepare. He served Lambrusco with our meal, which neither of us had really tried before, and we are now completely obsessed with it! To finish, he served us what was genuinely the best tiramisu I have ever had, absolutely incredible. What really stood out was how much Giacomo went above and beyond. After the experience, he even walked us into the town centre and recommended places for us to visit and explore in the beautiful local area, which was such a lovely and thoughtful extra touch. We were also sent all of the photos and videos from the evening afterwards, as well as the recipes, so we can recreate everything at home. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip. We would 100% do it again and I would genuinely love the opportunity to learn more from Giacomo in the future. He is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and a fantastic teacher. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and for giving us such a memorable evening. ❤️

I had such a wonderful experience with Giacomo! You can immediately tell how passionate he is about what he does, and that made the cooking class feel really special. His explanations were clear and engaging, and I really enjoyed the way he guided me through everything. Giacomo was also incredibly kind and accommodating, from helping me figure out how to get there to caring how I get from the station to him and back.😊 A very personal and authentic experience that I can wholeheartedly recommend. Thank you, Giacomo, and keep doing what you do! By the way one of the best pasta and Tiramisu that I have ever had!

We had a wonderful evening with Giacomo. Giacomo is truly a master of pasta. We made strozzapreti. Giacomo tells us a lot about Santarcangelo, winery, history of piadine and pasta in general. After making strozzapreti by ourself, Giacomo made diner, with piadine, homemade ragu, vegetarian tomato sauce and tiramisu as a dessert. It was delicious! We highly reccomend booking this home cookingclass. You’ll love it! And thanks to Alex for the beautiful photos and films.

This experience was absolutely unforgettable! It was my very first time in Italy, and taking this cooking class made the trip even more special. The chef welcomed us with incredible warmth and hospitality, teaching us how to prepare authentic pasta step by step. Giacomo not only shared his knowledge and passion for Italian cuisine, but also went above and beyond by preparing a beautiful surprise for my girlfriend’s birthday. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made the day truly unique. The whole experience exceeded all expectations — from the hands-on cooking to the stories, the atmosphere, and the genuine kindness we received. I cannot recommend this enough to anyone visiting Italy. Definitely a must-do, and I know it won’t be my last time here!
