  • Strozzapreti with mushrooms and sausage

Following my grandmother's teachings, we will start the day with the preparation of the dough ( with and without eggs ) and the filling for cappelletti.

Using a rolling pin, we will roll out the pastry as we once did and then prepare the various pasta shapes ( strozzapreti, tagliatelle, cappelletti ) by hand.

Giancomo and Alex are fantastic hosts and made us feel like their close friends. We had a terrific evening with them and the food was amazing. They went above and beyond in hospitality. This is a definite “MUST” when in Rimini area.

This experience gave us an incredibly authentic Italian feel for the cuisine and culture in this gorgeous area in Italy! Giacomo shared his passion for pasta making and it was fun to each make our own piadina bread! The food we were served was incredible and we felt that we were guests sharing a meal with friends…such was the hospitality of Giacomo and Alex, who also took us on a beautiful walking tour of their beloved city of Santarcangelo, which had us falling in love with the area! A quintessential Italian experience that we will never forget!

Excellent evening! Giacomo was the ultimate host . He is a master of pasta and piadine bread and we had so much fun making it with him . The food was delicious and the tiramisu was to die for … totally authentic and not the watered down version we get at home! A big thank you to both Giacomo and Alex for their outstanding hospitality and help with the train to get there and the wonderful tour of their amazing town of Santarcangelo. Truly a town not to miss and a fantastic experience .

We had a course with Giacomo yesterday. He was very friendly and accommodating. He contacted us the day before to find out if we had any allergies or intolerances and incorporated this into his menu. We prepared piadini and pasta with and without eggs - according to his grandmother's instructions. He had already prepared different parts of the menu so that we could try everything without wasting too much time. He also let us try his own pesto and gave us the recipe. We were also allowed to try his limoncello. All in all, it really was a very ‘nice experience among friends’.

I am originally from Cervia, but I moved to Rimini at the age of 25, and I have been living in Santarcangelo di Romagna for over 15 years, just a few kilometers away from Rimini and the sea. Santarcangelo is a lively inland town, full of commercial and dining activities, with a historic center particularly appreciated for its architecture and scenic beauty. I decided to dedicate myself full time to my lifelong passion: traditional and popular Romagna cuisine. Today, I am a professional sfoglino (pasta maker) for some famous local restaurants, and I enjoy experimenting with the many and varied local ingredients to create the best flavors. I love sharing my passion and my continuous search for excellent local raw materials with my friends and everyone who wants to experience the surprising sensations of Romagna cuisine.
