Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Your experience

Dear friends, when you come to visit me, you’ll find a spacious flat in the heart of Genoa’s old town. The property dates back to the 18th century and was once owned by an ancient Genoese noble family. It is just a short walk from Europe’s largest historic centre, the Palazzi dei Rolli on Via Aurea Garibaldi, where time has stood still since the 16th century. The Doge and the Genoese nobility once lived in these palaces, rich in Baroque paintings, Persian carpets and artefacts from ancient China – treasures acquired by the Maritime Republic of Genoa through its early shipping ventures; today they house magnificent museums.

Together we’ll prepare ‘calamaritto’ – squid from the Gulf of Genoa, deep-fried and served in a bread crust with aromatic sauces and PDO basil – as well as fritters and Zibibbo wine. I look forward to seeing you there!

We have just arrived back home to the US after our trip. I wanted to take a moment to thank Tiziana & Roberto, from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful experience they gave us in their home! It was without a doubt the most beautiful moment of our entire vacation. Our daughter has already bought a gnocchi board, and she has sent me to find her a mortar and pestle of her own. The tiramisu, the pesto, and the gnocchi were all so memorable, that the very day we returned home, she is insisting on preparing this wonderful meal for her friends and family here with us. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for everything. You will always have a special place in our hearts, and we will forever treasure the wonderful memories of the time we spent with you, and Julius Caesar the cat, in your lovely home.

Amazing, authentic, and immersive experience! My family and I had a wonderful time learning to cook with Tiziana! We made pesto and gnocchi in a beautiful villa in Genova. Tiziana was lovely and made the class so fun for the whole family!

We had the wonderful pleasure of going to a cooking class at the home of Tiziana and Roberto. It was a fabulous experience and I highly recommend it to anyone. It started at the local Genoa market ( an experience all on its own) and then off to the cooking class. But it was the company that was amazing. We felt at home and like part of the family. An experience we’ll never forget. Thank you for making our trip to Italy that much more special!

This was a great experience! Tiziana is so warm and kind - plus she's a great teacher. Roberto is a gracious host and was so kind to us. Plus the food was fabulous!! Highly recommended

Tiziana is a very good cook, chef and Cesarina. She taught us how to make an amazing tiramisu, then pansotti with walnut sauce, very good, and we learned how to make fresh pasta. The focaccia is truly delicious. Thank you very much: a beautiful experience.

The Delicius Liguria association offers a refined blend of traditional Ligurian cuisine enriched with Venetian and Calabrian influences. The experience takes place in a charming private home in the heart of Genoa, nestled along a characteristic “creuza de ma”, just steps away from the historic center. Here, an eclectic and authentic cuisine comes to life, telling stories of regions, traditions, and heritage through every dish. From the elaborate cappon magro, the most lavish and visually striking expression of Ligurian tradition, to the cima, prepared with almost ritual care through a long and meticulous process passed down over time. The journey concludes with the unmistakable aroma of freshly made pesto, crafted according to tradition using basil picked at its perfect, most tender stage. A cuisine that goes beyond taste: an experience that conveys passion, authenticity, and conviviality, leaving guests with lasting memories well beyond the table.
