Guided tour of the beautiful Cantina del Frignano winery where they produce excellent organic wines. Waiting for us will be Irene, the owner of the winery, who will be able to guide us to discover the traditional and native grape varieties of the Modenese hills. Panoramic tour and tasting of four wines from their production. Followed by lunch at the home of Cesarina Barbara (6 km from the winery) with three dishes of Modenese specialties accompanied by the winery's wines.

- My husband and I had a great experience with Barbara. She arranged a convenient way for us to meet her for transportation to the winery high in the hills of Modena and to her lovely home afterwards for lunch. Harvest was just beginning at the winery but the owner and her son stopped their work to give us a tour and tasting of multiple wines. Barbara, as a sommelier, added many insights to the conversation. The lunch at her home was absolutely delicious (with very generous portions) - overall, the best meal we had on our 16-day trip filled with many good meals! Barbara is personable and charming. Throughout the meal, she explained her recipes and techniques. We throughly enjoyed our day and highly recommend this experience.

I also enjoy preparing risottos with seasonal vegetables or cheeses paired with Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. I love making savory vegetable tarts and desserts, particularly pies with organic jams and traditional sweets from Modena. As a certified AIS Sommelier and wine course instructor, I take pleasure in pairing each dish with the right wine. Additionally, if the guest is a wine enthusiast and requests it, I can organize guided tastings for a more in-depth experience.
