Crescentine represent a typical delicacy of the Modena Apennines, handed down since ancient times. Our grandmothers prepared them almost daily, keeping the tradition alive. Usually baked in molds called tigelle, made of clay and heated over the fireplace, they were then stuffed with a chestnut leaf and a portion of crescentine.
Today, with the advent of modern times, we have new equipment for their baking, but few are left to preserve this authentic culinary tradition.
