We are in Matera, a Unesco World Heritage city.

The cooking class experience begins with the preparation of appetizers for the aperitif: pearls of Parmigiano, bruschetta with burrata and arugula or other ingredients depending on seasonality, always with local products and accompanied by local prosecco. Appetizers will generally be made with seasonal ingredients, prepared together with the guests who will be the stars of the dish. The first course will be homemade pasta: orecchiette, strascinati or ravioli with sweet ricotta cheese typical of certain times of the year, dressed with vegetables or fresh tomato sauce or ragout always depending on the season. Dessert will always be from the local tradition, with cream or ricotta cheese.

My wife and I had wonderful time with Anna Maria and it was a surprise and pleasure to have her husband join us for the meal we prepared. Fort anyone going to Matera this is an experience they should try. The food was great and there was more than we could ever eat. Excellent way to spend a lunch and we have done a lot of cooking classes in Europe. This was one of the best.

Moreover, on the occasion of its prestigious nomination as the European Capital of Culture in 2019, it has become a constellation of events and is preparing to welcome artists and tourists from all over the world. Materana cuisine, which consists of rustic country dishes prepared with locally produced products, are to be discovered. Cesarina Anna Maria’s cooking is also something to be discovered. She loves organizing dinners and parties and also caters events, such as exhibitions or inaugurations. She enjoys meeting people and it is for this reason that she has decided to become a Cesarina and create memorable culinary experiences for her guests.
