Alessandro

My name is Alessandro. I was born in Milan in 1961 to parents from Emilia. I look forward to welcoming you in the kitchen of my home on the outskirts of Bergamo, where we will prepare and enjoy local specialties together (Scarpinocc, typical Bergamasco ravioli, or Polenta Taragna) as well as dishes from my family tradition (Tagliatelle, Rosette Modenesi, Tigelle). Everything will be preceded by a variety of possible appetizers, including Reggio Emilia’s Erbazzone, and followed by a dessert, typically Tiramisu. A wide selection of wines and digestifs will also be available. An authentic, convivial, and relaxing experience, with many simple recipes you can easily recreate at home!

Our pasta-making experience at Alessandro’s home was one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, Alessandro and his wonderful family made us feel completely at home. It wasn’t just a cooking class, it felt like being welcomed into a family tradition. They generously shared recipes that have been passed down through generations, along with the stories and passion behind them, making the experience truly special. We learned how to make fresh pasta from scratch, enjoyed a delicious meal together, and even received fantastic recommendations for local shops where we could buy authentic salami, cheeses, and other regional specialties to take home. If you’re looking for an authentic Italian experience filled with warmth, great food, and genuine hospitality, we couldn’t recommend this enough. Thank you, Alessandro and your family, for an unforgettable evening!

An unforgettable taste of authentic Italian family life -

Wonderful time with the father and sons. Fantastic engagement with hosts as people. We learned a lot about making local specialty pasta. Plus the food was great and the recipes easy to follow. We have a new favorite summer dessert. Arrive hungry. Experience truly made easy by pickup and drop off. Highly recommend this unique Bergamo experience.

We had a great experience with Alessandro! He welcomed us into his home with open arms and we truly learned so much about pasta & tiramisu! We can’t wait to bring these recipes home and make them for family and friends.

Alessandro is the definition of Italian hospitality. From the moment he picked us up, we truly felt like he adopted us into his family. Being a long-time resident of Bergamo, Alessandro’s passion, historical expertise, and knowledge of culinary traditions are infectious. He taught us how to make different local pasta shapes along with his family’s Ragu, inspired by Emilia Romagna. My favorite were the casoncelli, the most famous pasta in Bergamo. While the food and lessons were amazing, the highlight was spending the entire afternoon with Alessandro (and his two wonderful, hilarious sons!) We shared an epic feast with his family and drank wine and chatted for hours. The class was supposed to be over at 1, but we ended up staying together until nearly 4pm — all just enjoying our time together too much! It was one of the best experiences we’ve had during our travels. We look forward to staying in touch with Alessandro and his family, and can’t wait to come back to visit!
