Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Tigelle (traditional round flatbreads)
  • Tiramisu

I look forward to seeing you at my cozy home in Sestola, in the Modena Apennines, for an authentic culinary experience together! We will learn how to make tigelle, small round breads typical of the area, traditionally filled with Modenese pesto (lard, garlic and rosemary) and Parmigiano Reggiano. There will be no shortage of mouth-watering alternatives with cured meats, cheeses, vegetables or even Nutella, for those with a sweet tooth! We will bake them in a pan, so you can easily make them again at home. To end on a sweet note, we will prepare together a classic tiramisu, to be enjoyed with coffee and digestif. I look forward to seeing you!

What a wonderful experience! Alessandro has the skill of a master craftsman and the gentle temperament of an experienced teacher. The food was delicious, only due to his expert tuition. We enjoyed it so much and would thoroughly recommend the experience. Also, ask him about the music!

Such an amazing cooking class! I learned so much and can’t wait to go home and cook homemade pasta for my friends and family! Alessandro explained everything so well and the class was so much fun! I highly recommend!

Alessandro’s cooking class was our favorite souvenir of our trip!! We loved hearing about his family traditions and recipes. He was such a kind teacher and excellent host! We loved learning how to make pasta, lemon mousse, and omelette cups. He made sure we were prepared to make these again when we return home. I can’t recommend him enough! It was a delightful way to spend a day in Bergamo!

We had an amazing experience with Alessandro and his lovely family. He was caring, patient and kind all the time and got my 7 yo boy to participate 100% during the experience. The recipes were well detailed and easy to reproduce at home with daily tools. Samuel said he deserves to get a 10 out of a 10! 🥰

Short version: It was perfect and we absolutely recommend everyone who wants to understand local handmade italien cuisine and considers doing this class with Alessandro to do it! Long version: The cooking class with Alessandro was amazing! He is a super open-minded and very welcoming person. He has a lot of knowledge of the local cuisine, cooking with him was a lot of fun and the result was delicious! It felt a bit like we knew each other for a longer time than just a few hours, especially when his sons joined, cooked and ate with us. We had a great evening and it was one of the best experiences of our vacation! We are looking forward to cook the receipes at home Thank you once again for this amazing evening.

My name is Alessandro. I was born in Milan in 1961 to parents from Emilia. I look forward to welcoming you in the kitchen of my home on the outskirts of Bergamo, where we will prepare and enjoy local specialties together (Scarpinocc, typical Bergamasco ravioli, or Polenta Taragna) as well as dishes from my family tradition (Tagliatelle, Rosette Modenesi, Tigelle). Everything will be preceded by a variety of possible appetizers, including Reggio Emilia’s Erbazzone, and followed by a dessert, typically Tiramisu. A wide selection of wines and digestifs will also be available. An authentic, convivial, and relaxing experience, with many simple recipes you can easily recreate at home!
