Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Tigelle with Modenese pesto, cold cuts and cheeses

I will teach you how to prepare tigelle, a small, round type of bread typical of the Modenese Apennines. Traditionally, they are topped with Modenese pesto, a blend of lard, garlic, and rosemary, accompanied by Parmigiano Reggiano. Alternatively, these treats can be paired with cured meats, cheeses, vegetables, or even Nutella for a sweet version. We will cook them in a pan, so you can easily make them at home as well. Afterward, we'll enjoy dessert, coffee, and a variety of digestifs!

It was truly fantastic. Alessandro was so kind and helpful! He welcomed us into his home as if we were family and taught us how to prepare delicious gnocchi, tagliatelle, and tiramisu. At one point, his children joined us, and it felt like one big family reunion!

Alessandro (Bergamo) was a great host! He was very thoughtful, patient, and kind to both my daughter and me. To our surprise, the dishes we prepared were delicious! I can't wait to try making them at home!

What a wonderful experience! Alessandro has the skill of a master craftsman and the gentle temperament of an experienced teacher. The food was delicious, only due to his expert tuition. We enjoyed it so much and would thoroughly recommend the experience. Also, ask him about the music!

Such an amazing cooking class! I learned so much and can’t wait to go home and cook homemade pasta for my friends and family! Alessandro explained everything so well and the class was so much fun! I highly recommend!

Alessandro’s cooking class was our favorite souvenir of our trip!! We loved hearing about his family traditions and recipes. He was such a kind teacher and excellent host! We loved learning how to make pasta, lemon mousse, and omelette cups. He made sure we were prepared to make these again when we return home. I can’t recommend him enough! It was a delightful way to spend a day in Bergamo!

My name is Alessandro. I was born in Milan in 1961 to parents from Emilia. I look forward to welcoming you in the kitchen of my home on the outskirts of Bergamo, where we will prepare and enjoy local specialties together (Scarpinocc, typical Bergamasco ravioli, or Polenta Taragna) as well as dishes from my family tradition (Tagliatelle, Rosette Modenesi, Tigelle). Everything will be preceded by a variety of possible appetizers, including Reggio Emilia’s Erbazzone, and followed by a dessert, typically Tiramisu. A wide selection of wines and digestifs will also be available. An authentic, convivial, and relaxing experience, with many simple recipes you can easily recreate at home!
