I would give 6 stars if I could :) Angela was very hospitable and showed us valuable techniques of cooking pasta and tiramisu, as well as explaining the history of the dishes with the help of her son. The food was delicious and the company was warm - highly recommended

We were paired up with Angela for our pasta making. She welcomed us into her lovely home and spent the morning teaching us how to make 2 types of pasta along with some Bruschetta. I had contacted her before to indicate some food preferences we had and she accommodated those preferences well. After making the pasta we cooked it all and had a delicious lunch. Both of my teens who did the tour with us really enjoyed it and loved the food. They can’t wait to try it sometime when we get back home.

Our dining experience was wonderful! Angela was a welcoming and warm host and a wonderful cook, full of information and stories about Sicilian food and culture, and my two teenage daughters and I were delighted by the experience. (They said it was the coolest thing we did on our whole trip!) Making fresh pasta together was a highlight.

My wife and I loved our pasta class with Angela in Catania. She welcomed us into her home and was delightful and showing three different ways to make pasta Along with help from her son. We truly appreciate how she made us feel welcome into her home and three pastas we ate were fantastic. Highly recommended!

The course is not suitable for gluten intolerant with the results using gluten free ingredients not successful. Whilst the gluten free intolerance was noted in our booking, as was English speaking, language was a major problem with most of the session relying on google translate this making the process very slow and laborious.

Cesarina from 2018Location: Catania    Languages: French, Italian, English
Ursino Castle, Piazza del Duomo with the Cathedral and black lava elephant, the Roman Theater and the lively fish market are just some of the points of interest that any visitor to Catania must not miss under any circumstances. Here in the 'black' city of lava, situated at the foot of Mount Etna, which emanates its own special fascination, we meet Angela, our Cesarina. Angela welcomes us to her splendid, historical Art Nouveau villa, designed by the famous architect Francesco Fichera, who was also linked to Art Deco.  In this little corner of paradise, surrounded by tall trees and a lush wisteria, Angela warmly welcomes us and tells us her story and her passion for cooking that led her to become a Cesarina. Her memories take her back to her childhood and adolescent years. In the morning, there were those in the kitchen who rolled out dough, those who kneaded dough for biscuits and those who left at 8 o’clock to search for the best quality food. These were women from other regions, who were heirs to their own culinary traditions and secrets, but who were curious and accepting of Sicilian gastronomy. They amused themselves by adding their own small touches from recipes from the north.
