In Verona, the market takes place on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings from 8:30 to 13:00. During Saturdays and Sundays, the market is held indoors in the charming Palazzo Ex Macello. On days when the market is closed, I usually take guests to visit the historic shops of Verona, where locals typically do their shopping. We always start with a great coffee and some pastries at Pasticceria Castelvecchio. Then, we reach the fresh pasta shop. Continuing our journey, the scent of fresh bread will lead us to Sam's place. Along the way home, we'll visit one of the oldest fruit and vegetable shops, run by the same family for generations. Once home, we'll enjoy a small aperitif and we will prepare three recipes together: fresh pasta, vegetable brushcetta and sbrisolona, typical of Verona.

Michela is not only very friendly and welcoming, she is so knowledgeable about food since she has spent many years as a private chef. Michela is from Verona, she has always lived in Verona, a city of art and love. Her apartment is a few steps from Piazza Brà, in the city center. The hills with its vineyards, Lake Garda with centuries-old olive trees and the Lessini mountains surround the monuments of a city with magical views. Her passion for cooking is a family legacy. Grandmother Laura and mother Bibi involved grandchildren and children in the preparation of long and short fresh pasta, lasagna, tortellini and tortelli, meat main courses with side dishes and desserts. "In the kitchen I try to convey the value of simplicity, but at the same time I am always ready to experiment with new dishes, mainly using the typical products of the Verona area."
