    Directly from Grandma Laura's recipe book, jealously handed down from mother to daughter, we will discover the secrets of preparing Risini, Zaletti and Torta Russa. A time in the kitchen to immerse ourselves in Veronese tradition, accompanied as always by lots of merriment and good wine. A sampling of typical Veronese cured meats and cheeses will serve as a side dish to this sweet experience. Risini are single-portion baskets of short pastry, with a filling of rice and custard, perfect for breakfast or as an afternoon dessert. Zaletti are soft cookies made with cornmeal; they are delicious for an end of a meal or a snack. Russa cake is a dessert consisting of a crispy puff pastry shell and a soft almond and macaroon filling.

    Michela is from Verona, she has always lived in Verona, a city of art and love. Her apartment is a few steps from Piazza Brà, in the city center. The hills with its vineyards, Lake Garda with centuries-old olive trees and the Lessini mountains surround the monuments of a city with magical views. Her passion for cooking is a family legacy. Grandmother Laura and mother Bibi involved grandchildren and children in the preparation of long and short fresh pasta, lasagna, tortellini and tortelli, meat main courses with side dishes and desserts. "In the kitchen I try to convey the value of simplicity, but at the same time I am always ready to experiment with new dishes, mainly using the typical products of the Verona area."
