Shared Experience
Your experience

In the heart of Valpantena, among the Veronese hills, lies one of the oldest olive mills in Verona: the Salvagno family olive mill. Here will begin our journey that will take us to discover the properties of the olive tree, an ancient and generous tree. We will visit the olive grove and discover the various stages of processing, up to bottling. At the end of the visit we will be able to taste the oil, discovering all its characteristics. A glass of wine will accompany the tasting.

Once back home we will cook together a pasta dish or risotto, using the olive oil. To end on a sweet note, a slice of doughnut, Grandma's, with olive oil is a must! Visiting hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

What a fantastic experience with Michela in Verona for the market and cooking class. My wife and I loved shopping the local food market and then putting some of those ingredients to work in our meal. We prepared an appetizer, 2 pasta dishes and a dessert. All were delicious and Michela even started us with a little aperitif and some wine to get us in the Italian spirit! Michela was very patient with us, and completely flexible in deciding what to make, different flavours to add, etc. My wife doesn’t eat red meats, but this was no problem for our class. Michela guided us through multiple steps of her recipes - but all were fairly easy to follow, and she demonstrated then had us repeat and learn the ropes. The pastas we made were excellent - but everything was really great. Michela is located in the heart of Verona so it is a fantastic way to get into the city, spend some time cooking (and eating) and then exploring the city to work your meal off. Highly recommend Michela - felt very comfortable spending time with her in the kitchen - and then dining with her in her home.

Michela was a wonderful host! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening with her learning to make pasta and tiramisu. She is an exceptional chef: patient, kind, thorough and made it all very easy to understand. We are excited to make her recipies now that we are home again!

Michela greeted us downstairs at the street when we arrived at her building. She was a wonderful hostess, my sister and I felt like we were visiting a friend and cooking with her and sitting to enjoy dinner together. She created a menu that didn't have pork in it. The pesto was so fresh and tasty, my sister and I still talk about it. Grazie Mille to Michela for a wonderful evening.

It was such a great experience, me and my girlfriend learned so much about cooking- the italian tradition. Michaela is a great teacher, very pleasant, loving and she explains well every part, She is also very considerate and helpful to anything that might bother you about the food or the cooking itself. We had so much fun and highly recommend this cooking class :)

Michela is from Verona, she has always lived in Verona, a city of art and love. Her apartment is a few steps from Piazza Brà, in the city center. The hills with its vineyards, Lake Garda with centuries-old olive trees and the Lessini mountains surround the monuments of a city with magical views. Her passion for cooking is a family legacy. Grandmother Laura and mother Bibi involved grandchildren and children in the preparation of long and short fresh pasta, lasagna, tortellini and tortelli, meat main courses with side dishes and desserts. "In the kitchen I try to convey the value of simplicity, but at the same time I am always ready to experiment with new dishes, mainly using the typical products of the Verona area."
