Hi from Anna!

"I am a cook and a kitchen historian, I know the artisanal production realities of Como and its mountains. I search for historical dishes from northern Italy and I make them, often adapting them to today. Above all country dishes, where raw materials brought from the city are mixed , in the holiday villas of the city furniture, such as precious spices that only arrived in the city, with meats, vegetables and cheeses produced on the hills. Specialized also in French country cuisine ".

Anna was great. Very hands on experience and you’ll learn quickly. We’ll be making risotto and tiramisu for family and friends.

Anna was an amazing host. She prepared appertivo for us when we arrived and showed us her home. Which was gorgeous by the way - it had amazing views of the lake and mountains and a huge terrace where she grew fresh herbs and spices. For dinner we learned how to make traditional risotto Milanese and Tiramisu. It turned out so tasty! I would highly recommend the Cesarine cooking experiences, and definitely recommend Anna! We left her house full, happy and with leftover Tiramisu. What could be better???

This was such a unique experience. Anna welcomed us into her home like part of her family and we shared a delicious, authentic home cooked 3-course meal. Highly recommend.

Anna was wonderful. She was very sweet. Her home is historical and lovely and has a beautiful view. She had a beautiful assortment of meats and cheeses for us to try along with a wine spritzer before we got started on our lesson. We loved our lesson. During our lesson we mentioned we were having difficulty contacting our car rental company and Anna went above and beyond and helped us get in contact with the office through another since we couldn’t speak Italian. She is a wonderful cook and we would recommend her lesson to anyone.

We had a fantastic afternoon with Anna. Our cooking experience was definitely a highlight of the trip. Anna welcomed us into her home with a table of cheeses, meats, figs, wine and such to get us warmed up to the task. She obviously enjoys teaching - demonstrating task and then setting us to work. Periodically scampering into her garden for fresh herbs. If you expect to be handed a written recipe to follow you will be disappointed - this is cooking like your grandmother. Anna inspires you to trust in your fresh ingredients and your sense of flavor. At the end, we had a bit of left over pasta dough. We took the leftover meats and cheese from the charcuterie -- add a little ricotta, emulsify it all together with an immersion blender, add a little nutmeg - combine with a 5 minute brown butter and sage (yes, from the garden) sauce and, viola, the absolute best "leftovers" raviolis you can image! It was a blast!
