La « cazzateddhra » est un type de pain qui remonte à très loin, quand les fours domestiques n'existaient pas encore et que le seul four disponible était celui du village, où les chères grand-mères allaient cuire leur pâte. C'est là que la « cazzateddhra » est née : alors qu'une femme attendait son tour pour enfourner, un morceau de pâte est tombé accidentellement dans le four, donnant naissance à ce merveilleux pain. Ensemble, on va préparer la pâte, cuire le pain et le déguster, accompagné d'un verre de vin typique de la région. Tout ça se passera dans ma douce et chère cuisine.
Katia’s and her family were so warm welcoming & generous. She shared a great deal of information about her regional cuisine. We baked bread typical of Puglia. She served us a lovely lunch with a wide variety of homemade food much of which was grown in her garden. Very charming experience..

Katia & her whole family were extremely, warm, generous,& welcoming. We made the local typically bread which was delicious. Unexpectedly, she served us a complete lunch; meatballs, grilled zucchini, several kinds of peppers , meat, & fish. Her tiramisu was delicious! It is a very short cab ride or drive from Lecce, only about 10-15 minutes. Absolutely lovely & memorable experience.

I had an amazing time at Katia's home. She warmly welcomed me and one other student and we learned two types of traditional pasta and tiramisu. (I had never made either before.) In addition, she served us an incredible dinner with wine, wonderful cheeses, homemade bread, meatballs and vegetable dishes sourced from her garden. I felt right at home with her family. If you are staying near Lecce you must do this.
