In this cooking class, we will learn how to make orecchiette and calzoni dolci, a typical dish from Matera, usually prepared during Carnival.
In the past, Carnival ragù had to be really heavy: in many recipes, lard was also added. In fact, it was the last chance to enjoy a good meal with the meat from the pig slaughtered that winter, before the fasting of Lent. In this course, you will learn all the secrets of this recipe and at the end, we will taste what we have prepared together with an excellent local wine.

Moreover, on the occasion of its prestigious nomination as the European Capital of Culture in 2019, it has become a constellation of events and is preparing to welcome artists and tourists from all over the world. Materana cuisine, which consists of rustic country dishes prepared with locally produced products, are to be discovered. My cooking is also something to be discovered. I love organizing dinners and parties and also cater events, such as exhibitions or inaugurations. I enjoy meeting people and it is for this reason that I have decided to become a Cesarina and create memorable culinary experiences for my guests.
