Cooking class: learn how to cook an Italian recipe

Private Experience
Your experience

The dish we will prepare together is a traditional Matera dish called 'bread balls', a simple but delicious dish made from leftovers, with ingredients that everyone had in their homes in the Sassi district of ancient Matera, the Matera of shepherds and farmers, where bread was made by hand and baked in wood-fired ovens.

After preparing the traditional dish, we will enjoy an aperitif with local products and the famous Peperone Crusco. For lunch or dinner, we will move to the dining room where we will enjoy a first course of fresh pasta topped with vegetables or mixed meat sauce or prepared in terracotta pans. Last but not least, dessert will be accompanied by homemade liqueurs typical of the area.

My partner and I had a wonderful time with Anna Maria learning how to make fresh pasta! Anna Maria was warm and welcoming. She was also great with our young daughter! We both enjoyed experiencing her passion for food and eating a delicious supper! We would highly recommend one of her classes - such an interesting, fun and tasty way to explore Matera!

Visiting Matera, walking around or just admiring the Sassi and breathtaking views, is an unforgettable experience. UNESCO has honored the city by recognizing it as a World Heritage site and it could not otherwise, judging by the amazed reactions caused by the Sassi, the cathedral, the numerous rupestrian churches, the traces of a monasticism come from afar, the places of faith and pilgrimage, and the beautiful scenic nature. Moreover, on the occasion of its prestigious nomination as the European Capital of Culture in 2019, it has become a constellation of events and is preparing to welcome artists and tourists from all over the world. Materana cuisine, which consists of rustic country dishes prepared with locally produced products, are to be discovered. My cooking is also something to be discovered. I love organizing dinners and parties and also cater events, such as exhibitions or inaugurations. I enjoy meeting people and it is for this reason that I have decided to become a Cesarina and create memorable culinary experiences for my guests.
