Hi from Lucia!

"You always cook thinking of someone, otherwise you're just preparing food"What I love most is passing down the traditions of my region through culinary art, that is, everything that has been passed down to me by my grandmothers since I was a child. A journey that goes from homemade pasta, to traditional pittule, to the typical sweets of my land.

Lucia was the perfect host. To be able to make pasta with a native Italian and converse and break the language barrier was so fun- both of us learned as we tried to look up new words being said or words of foods/cooking terms that did not translate easily. Lucia welcomed me into her home and had me try wines, appetizers, antipasti, and the pasta we learned to make before eating the tiramisu we also made. I had such a great time and tried new foods I had not even seen while in Lecce for two days. I have taken pasta classes before and I still learned pasta tricks based on local methods, and more so, the conversation between people of a different area was by far the biggest reward. Thanks Lucia (and Paolo)! This was a fantastic way to end my trip to Lecce. Thank you very much.

Vacanza in Salento, nella quale abbiamo scelto di conoscere il territorio da vicino. Lucia e Paolo hanno accolto la nostra famiglia permettendo concretamente anche ai bambini, 3enne incluso, di sperimentare le preparazioni locali. Pur arrivando da zone ad alta intensità di pastificazione, ogni luogo è diverso e porta con sé scelte e racconti del proprio dove e del proprio tempo, stimolando curiosità, confronto e nuove conoscenze. Grazie dei tempi e dei modi dedicati, alla prossima!

In short: we had a great evening with 2 excellent and sweet hosts, with amazing food. By far the best tiramisu we've had in a very long time! What made it extra special is that we were invited into the home of one of the hostess, which gave it an extra dose of Italian atmosphere. We learned a million different types of pasta, we made a bunch of them, and we were left wanting for more! And it was not just the pasta. Of course there was a lot of fresh cheese and other types of delicious food. And an extra compliment: just the day before the chef got word of our dietary wishes and she fully accommodated for it. 5 stars for the complete package: thank you again!

I did Lucia’s lovely class with my mum and we learnt to make orecchiette and macaroni, along with tiramisu! Thank you so much to Lucia for the wonderful class and for picking us up and dropping us off- we are very grateful. Lucia was so welcoming and helpful and also gave us lots of tips about the area where we were staying. We learnt a lot and we enjoyed ourselves very much- thank you from New Zealand!
