Hi from Pierangela!

Hello, my name is Pierangela, and cooking for others is one of the things that brings me the most joy. Since I was a child, I've wanted to experiment with the traditional recipes of my hometown. I was born in Gravina in Puglia, a town on the border between Puglia and Basilicata, boasting an incredibly rich culinary tradition. It's precisely this richness that drives me to cook: so many recipes, so many flavors, unique and unmistakable, exclusively ours. Panzerotti, focaccia barese, Pan cotto alla gravinese, U' ruccl (typical San Giuseppe focaccia), sweet ricotta calzones with pork ragu, orecchiette al tegamino, cavatelli, baked finocchietti, cartellate, and much more—these are the typical flavors of my homeland. For the past 12 years, I have been living in Lecce, in the wonderful and spectacular Salento, and from the beginning, I started to savor and create dishes typical of the Salento tradition, including the famous Pezzetti di cavallo, Ciceri e tria, Pittule, Pizzo, Frise, and the unmissable pasticciotto.

We had a great time with Pierangela as she taught us how to make tiramisu and fresh pasta, orecchiette and cavatelli, in her home. She had prepared some delicious aperitivo for us to enjoy during the lesson along with some nice local red wine. We were also able to practice speaking some Italian with Pierangela during our time with her. We eventually ate the pasta and tiramisu that we prepared and everything was delicious. Well done Pierangela, you taught us well. Thanks! Karen and Jim

We had a wonderful time preparing our lunch from scratch. We made Tiramisu Orchiette and Aubergine parmigiana whilst sipping Prosecco. Life doesn’t get better than this. Thankyou Pierangela you were a charming hostess and we enjoyed learning from you in your home.

We had the most wonderful time learning how to cook panzeroti with Pierangela. She is an expert in making this Italian delight and we are hoping to bring back what we learned and start cooking it at home. Pierangela was very welcoming to her home. She was a very good and patient teacher. She provided a lot of snacks and drinks so we were never hungry during the class. We really enjoyed our time with her! I highly recommend you take one of her classes!

It was a great experience. When we asked her why she is giving these cooking classes in her own house, she told that she loves to bring the world in her house and meet new people all from all over the world. After this nice evening with great focaccia, pizza and tiramisu lessons we felt like friends. 1 Small thing, instead of letting the guests do the preparing, you are a little fast with taking over. 😉 When we are back, we are definitely going to make everything we were taught. Thank you again for a great and warm evening!
