Your experience
We will immerse ourselves in the preparation of classic Ligurian pesto, delighting in a delicious appetizer and a first course seasoned with this famous sauce, all in a charming historic home dating back to the 15th century. It will be a unique opportunity to learn the tricks and secrets of these three dishes that we will share during your lunch or dinner. I look forward to welcoming you and enthusiastically sharing this culinary experience!

- Fantastic! Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful experience with Ivan! We were so fortunate to spend an afternoon with Ivan and his friend Carla, as well as his wife Paola, and son Federico. Ivan showed us how to prepare several Ligurian dishes in their gorgeous 15th century home, which we enjoyed for lunch with some delightful wine from sommelier Paola’s beautiful Enoteca “Monna Bianca”. (Also very much worth a visit!) Highly recommend. We will return to Ivan for another experience on our next trip to Italy!
- Absolutely fabulous lunchtime experience. What a fantastic meal, beautiful house and most importantly, wonderful company. Ivan is a really great teacher and to top it all off his wife Paola runs the wine shop ‘Monna Bianca’ (via Dante, 56) below the apartment.
- Cooking with Ivan was the best part of our trip. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary as well as my wife's 60th birthday in Italy. Ivan puled out all the stops and make a birthday cake that was so meaningful and also delicious too. The whole experience will become a memory that we will keep forever. I would have given the experience 6+ stars.
- We had the best experience! Ivan met us at the train station and he showed us the sites of Lavagna. Welcomed us into his home and we made the best lunch! The food was amazing! A must do!
- The highlight of our trip to Italy, Ivan is an amazing chef and an even better host! Together with Carla, we enjoyed walking through Lavanga, discovering the town while collecting ingredients along the way. We then picked up some local wine before Ivan invited us into his beautiful house. He cooked us a feast all while we sat in the courtyard and had great conversation with Carla. I can’t speak highly enough of this experience. We felt truely welcomed, and it’s something I hope I can remember for the rest of my life.
