Traveling to Venice with my twin 14 year old granddaughters, I thought a cooking class would interest them since they love to cook. I arranged for Barbara to show us how to make risotto nero and as part of the class, an apetizer and dessert of her choosing. She graciously added yet another risotto -a vegetarian one with radicchio de Treviso. Barbara was a wonderful teacher, she gave my granddaughters many tips to make sure that they would be able to repeat these dishes at home, the lunch was very delicious and she was a pleasure to talk to. I can't say enough good things about her. She told us about life in Venice, and the time flew. I would definitely want to engage with her again when next I am in Venice.

nous avons vécu une très belle expérience de diner à l'italienne grâce à Barbara (les gnocchis n'ont plus de secret pour nous!) La cuisine était vraiment délicieuse et Barbara est tellement sympa!

We received a warm welcome from Barbara who prepared a very good meal and treated us kindly with her partner. She even came to pick us up in order for us not to get lost. (My only disappointment was not with our host but with the platform who asked me to provide information but apparently didn’t forward to the host. Why ask what we prefer or don’t like then…)

Wonderful experience in a local chef’s home. Barbara was very hospitable and we thoroughly enjoyed learning how to make homemade pasta, filling & forming into different pasta types and tiramisu for dessert! Highly recommend! Thank you Barbara!

Merci à Barbara et Claudio de nous avoir accueilli dans leur charmante maison. Malgré une chaleur étouffante ce jour-là, Barbara nous a montré son art de faire des pâtes et transmis ses astuces de cuisinière. Cela aurait été parfait avec un petit document pour expliquer et retenir ce que l'on apprend. Une belle expérience.

We spent a wonderful evening cooking with Barabara at her amazing home in Venice! We prepared Ravioli, Tiramisu and Mozzarella in Carrozze from scratch, paying close attention to the many practical tips Barabara gave us. She is an absolute pro in the kitchen and a very patient teacher, sharing many details and tips. Over dinner, great talk about Venetian life and culinary tradition with Barbara and Claudio. A unique experience!

I booked a dining experience with Cesarine at Barbara's with a group of friends. It was an absolutely fantastic evening! I was a little unsure at first, as I didn't really know what to expect... But I'm so glad I decided to go for it. Barbara met us in a nearby square and accompanied us to her home. It was such a surprise to actually enter into a real home in Venice - when you explore the city, you always wonder what it's like to actually live there, and this gave us a taste! Barbara showed us around her beautiful home, and the table was set with lovely dishes and cloths, so we felt really special. We tasted plenty of wine, sourced from her friends in the Veneto area, and as for the food... It was just wonderful, and she explained the fascinating stories behind every ingredient. She was the most welcoming host. I will never forget the amazing "seppie ripiene", the delicate "baccalà mantecato", and artichoke hearts, or the generous helpings of "spaghetti con le vongole" and the typical "frittole" sweets that were on our menu that night. Everything came from the local market and was so much better than the food we tried in the local restaurants. Plus, there were second helpings... :) I also want to add that the staff at Cesarine were very kind, and answered all my questions. The booking process was easy thanks to their friendly service. Thank you! I will be recommending this experience to all my friends. It was unforgettable and I can't wait to book again on my next trip. I found out that Cesarine have hosts all over Italy, so I'll be spoilt for choice next time.

Barbara was our instructor and we enjoyed our time with her and the delicious food. However, I did feel our class group size (9 total) was way to big for the size of her apartment and kitchen.
