Venice is a unique place: floating on a lagoon with a network of thousands of canals. Rich in history and culinary tradition, it is a city of art, forged from different pasts and cultures, with profound ties to both the land and the sea.


The ancient city is also home our Cesarina, Giulia. Her cooking reflects her regional and family traditions made even more unique by a modern twist with her passion and expertise in local and seasonal ingredients.


Giulia: "For me cooking is not a journey through youth but rather onwards into maturity. My childhood was spent in my grandmothers’ kitchens with the aromas and flavours of two different Italian cultures; Born in Turin with mother from Mantua and a Venetian father, I grew up around my grandmother in Mantua, with the scent of pumpkin, rolling homemade pasta, and in Venice with the sharing culture of Cicchetti (aperitivo finger food). Polenta, however, was common to both regions although in Mantua it had a yellow tinge and stark white colour in Venice".

Guilia was so much fun and we could not have enjoyed our evening more! We learned lots of new kitchen tricks, especially using lemon zest, and the pasta and Tiramisu were soooo delicious. Dinner with Guilin was a high point in our visit to Venice! We will do this again! Grazie Mille Guilia!

Amazing! Must do when in Italy! My husband and I loved our class with Giulia. She was an amazing host with great food, home and energy. She was very sweet and has great english. I would 100% do this again.

The cooking class was wonderful. Giulia was so much fun and her home is beautiful. She is a very experienced cook. We have both cooked for years, but still learned many new things. Going to the market with a native Venetian was one of the highlights of class. Caesarian service was excellent.

We enjoyed our tour with Giulia very much. Everything worked perfectly. From meeting her at her apartment to our conversations about food and family. It gave us a lovely introduction to Venetian food. It also meant the next day we visited an osteria that sold snacks and drinks because Giulia has shown us what to look for. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in finding out about Venetian food and cookery For us it would have been helpful to know where the food tour was going to be. We were based in Rialto so we walked to Giulia house only for her to take us back to were we were staying.

Giulia war eine herzliche Gastgeberin, die uns gestern in ihrer hübschen, sauberen Wohnung empfing. Sie ist eine hervorragende italienische Köchin, die ihr Wissen gerne und voller Begeisterung an uns weitergegeben hat. Es hat viel Spaß gemacht, gemeinsam mit ihr und ihrer Freundin Valentina zu kochen- so wie Guilia‘s Großmutter es ihr schon beigebracht hatte... - Leckere italienische Pasta herstellen für den Hausgebrauch! Mit vielen kleinen Tipps. - Auch für das Tiramisu… Wir haben den Abend gestern sehr genossen. Ganz herzlichen Dank dafür!!!

Giulia è un concentrato di energia e di carica positiva. Ci ha accolto nella sua bellissima casa veneziana e, con la sua simpatia, ci ha fatto trascorrere una serata piacevolissima, in cui ci siamo sentite a casa di un'amica. Il tutto accompagnato da piatti della tradizione cucinati in modo semplice e genuino. Consiglieremo un'esperienza come questa a tutti i nostri amici che verranno in visita a Venezia, sicure che Giulia sarà in grado di aggiungere quel tocco in più che renderà la serata indimenticabile. Julia is the best Venetian chef in the world ! This is our first experience to take cooking class at home with Venetian chef , she is amazing ! We love her way to cook , she is so friendly and we feel like home with her ! The best experience we ever had ! So many times in Venice but the day today we will remember for ever thanks to Julia ! For sure we meet again and would like to learn more and more about Italian cousin, which is one of the best in the world !
