As we indulge in the beauty of the sea from the olive grove, I will reveal the secrets of our spice pesto. I will tell you its fascinating history and the traditional method of getting the perfect flavor. Then, I will show the two ways to make pesto: traditional or modern, mortar and pestle or electric blender. There will be no shortage of my tips for storing pesto optimally.

And after preparing our pesto, we will enjoy it with classic bavette. The experience lasts about two hours, during which you will be refreshed with cool water and a glass of some of the best wine from our local wineries.

The entrance to this woman's house is down a steep, rocky, poorly maintained trail. Customers should be warned so they know what to expect.

I went to this cooking class with my husband for our honeymoon and was blown away with how amazing Barbara was. Mike and I were late getting to the class but Barbara helped us along the way, she was friendly, funny, knowledgeable and made us really feel welcome. Other than it was difficult to find her house but she helped me through FaceTime, everything was absolutely amazing and delicious. Barbara really took care of us and taught us two ways to prepare pasta and her Husband was so funny and helped out as well making the Bruschetta. The views from her house were incredible and love her two dogs. I would recommend Barbara’s delicious pasta making class to anyone explore the Cinque Terra area.

Hi there, I'm Barbara!
 I was born in the Gulf of Poets, to a Sardinian mother and a Genoese father, and spent my childhood with my beloved grandparents. I like to think of myself as a citizen of the world, but I have a strong connection to my land and its traditions, as does my husband Stefano. Together, we want to share our passion for cooking and our roots with other enthusiasts and curious minds. Since I was a child, I developed a strong passion for cooking, thanks to my grandmother who taught me to experiment and taste new flavors. I have always been adventurous and have tried all the original recipes from different countries around the world, but Ligurian cuisine remains my favorite. We decided to open the doors of our house, located on the terraces of the Cinque Terre above Riomaggiore, to share our passion for cooking and local culture. For us, cooking is the best way to tell the story of our land and pass on the true Ligurian tradition to others. We are excited to share this culinary journey with guests from around the world!
