Small Group hands-on cooking class with 2 pasta recipes and tiramisù followed by a tasting of the recipes prepared during the lesson

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Tagliatelle (homemade pasta) with pesto
  • Ravioli (homemade pasta) with butter and sage
  • Tiramisu with coffee and cocoa

I will be waiting for you at my home, in an intimate and typical Ligurian setting with a picturesque view over the rooftops of Riomaggiore. Between chats and some good local wine, we will prepare pesto together while I tell you about the origins and importance of the ingredients. I always choose natural organic and km zero products.

It will be fun to get our hands in the pasta making ravioli and tagliatelle. We will make a classic tiramisu but with the right adjustments for our times and then continue in total relaxation tasting what we have prepared with such dedication and love.

It was a wonderful morning with Giulia in her apartment with beautiful views of the town. Lovely small group (4 people) and Giulia made it such a relaxed environment. There were plenty of snacks, wine and coffee. The pasta making was almost therapeutic. The teramisu was simple yet delicious. Would highly recommend. We left with a full stomach and smile on our faces. Thank you Giulia!

Giulia was an amazing instructor, who taught us how to make multiple dishes from family recipes as well as recipes from her professional experience. She communicated well ahead of time, and even shared the recipes with us afterwards. Highly recommended to anyone curious about making local dishes with an expert from the area.

Giulia was an amazing host! Our train to Cinque Terre was delayed 2 hours and she made sure we were still able to participate even though we were late to the class. She was so nice and the class was a great time. The food was delicious!!! We will be making these dishes often. Highly recommend doing this class on your trip to Cinque Terre. It’s well worth the money and was an experience we will never forget. Thank you, Giulia!!

Our pasta and tiramisu class with Giulia was literally the highlight of our trip to Italy. It far exceeded our expectations and left us feeling inspired and grateful for the experience. Here are 7 reasons why: 1) The setting was special. Giulia teaches her class in a lovely apartment with a breathtaking view of Riomaggiore. It was easy to find, well-appointed, and the perfect space to learn her techniques and cooking approach. 2) We were warmly greeted by Giulia and her husband Alessandro, who offered us drinks and appetizers (zucchini quiche, crostini, marinated tomatoes, salame)—all freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. The appetizers alone were a cut above anything we were served at local restaurants. 3) Giulia and her husband are former restauranteurs, so they are experts in their field. You could taste their expertise in our results. 4) The spinach/ricotta ravioli and tagliatelli we made under Giulia's supervision were literally the best meals we ate on our entire 2.5-week trip. Giulia indicated her recipes were in the traditional Ligurian style, and we could taste every ingredient. 5) Giulia's teaching style was warm and precise. She let us watch her first, showing us every step of the pasta-making process, then let us take over, giving us tips along the way. We could not have had a more skillful teacher. 6) I have to mention the tiramisu, a dessert I usually don't like--until now. In the US, the tiramisus we've tried have been clouded with alcohol and wildly inconsistent in flavor. Giulia's recipe had no alcohol and was deceptively simple--but the flavors were complex and incredible. I couldn't stop eating it, and now it's one of my favorite desserts. It's amazing how much a talented chef can change your perspective on a single dish. 7) We left our class feeling energized and inspired, almost like we had been shown the secret formula for creating landmark Italian dishes better than most restaurants can provide. We couldn't recommend this experience more highly. It was unique in every way, resulting from Giulia's formidable talents as a chef/teacher and a very-well-thought-out process in which we felt absolutely welcome and confident from beginning to end. On a scale of 1 to 10, this was easily a 12!

My cuisine is deeply connected to the primary ingredients of my region. Simple pairings yet with a unique flavor where each ingredient is highlighted. When I step into the kitchen, I am happy; my dishes are a combination of memories and flavors from when I was young, when it was my grandmother and my mother cooking, to today, where I am the one cooking for my family. For my loved ones, I often make fresh pasta and also condiments like pesto or walnut sauce depending on the season. I also enjoy making desserts, from tiramisu to apple cake and sweet rice cake.
