    My cuisine is inspired by the typical recipes of Sicily and in particular the Catania tradition. The dishes I offer my guests are prepared with seasonal and local ingredients purchased in the historic markets of the city of Catania. Among the appetizers I choose local cured meats and cheeses. I love making fresh pasta in traditional Sicilian formats: cavatelli or busiate, dressed with fresh tomato and basil sauce or seasonal vegetables.

    I highly recommend this cooking class. Three of us learned how to make two different types of pasta, and tiramisu. Marilu is a wonderfully teacher who is detailed and patient, I have always wanted to make pasta, and now thanks to Marilu I am ready to make it for my family and friends here in the USA.

    If there is 6 stars, I’ll give 6 stars! Marilu is the the great teacher I could’ve expected for. She & Vincenzo picked me up to see open market [alas, it was closed that day], and treat me cappucino & biscotti. I wrote specifically that I’d like to learn to make cannolli, and despite the complexity she really did teach me how to make cannolli! This is also the first time I made cavatelli, and she is patiently guiding me thru the process. The lunch at her cozy home is fantastic, she also recommended me some local tips for dining. I’d highly recommend to book her class!

    Un pomeriggio passato in spensieratezza e allegria. Marilù ed Enzo sono due padroni di casa eccellenti, mio marito, mia figlia ed io ci siamo sentiti come a casa. Abbiamo finalmente imparato a fare le busiate, che da oggi non mancheranno più sulla mia tavola. Il tiramisù fatto insieme a Marilù è il più buono mai mangiato!

    I am Marilù, your Cesarina in Catania. I look forward to cooking together and letting you taste a variety of traditional dishes that I prepare with love. We will get our hands dirty and make fresh pasta together using fresh and genuine ingredients purchased directly at the open-air market in Catania. Guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in all stages of dish preparation. My specialties include egg ravioli and tagliatelle, busiate and cavatelli (Sicilian fresh pasta), scacce, scacciate, and focaccias. My standout dishes are eggplant Parmesan and Sicilian-style caponata. To end on a sweet note, we cannot miss tiramisu, a dessert loved by all, as well as traditional Sicilian sweets: lemon or melon ice and sesame nougat.
