Come to my home and let yourself be intoxicated by the unmistakable scents of Sicily! I am Cesarina Fernanda, and together we will prepare eggplant caponata. With its intense aroma and sweet and sour flavor, caponata captures all the scents of the Sicilian summer in one dish: eggplant, tomatoes, onions, basil, and a few other ingredients will come together to offer you an extraordinary taste experience.
After savoring the Palermo-style caponata, our culinary journey will take us to Trapani with busiate, the famous homemade pasta, and then to Catania with the recipe for sugo alla Norma. We will finish on a sweet note with the scents of cinnamon, ricotta, and orange zest in a fragrant tart that will leave an indelible mark on your memories.

- A highlight of our trip! Fernanda and her daughter were the best hosts, we felt so welcomed from the moment we started. Both were very patient and explained thoroughly the processes also sharing their knowledge and answering our questions. We finished with eating our products with the family over conversation. Such a great experience to truly understand Sicily and the local cuisine. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again when in Sicily next!

From the moment we arrived, Fernanda and her wonderful family welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like part of their own. The entire experience was beyond what we expected. We learned how to make several types of pasta, including tortellini, gnocchi, and ravioli with delicious homemade fillings. Fernanda and her sister also shared insights into Sicilian culinary traditions that made us appreciate the culture even more. There was plenty of laughter, amazing food (we ate until we were stuffed!), wine flowing freely, and a sense of warmth and joy that’s hard to put into words. By the end, it felt like we were leaving a family dinner, not a cooking class. If you’re in Catania and want an experience that feels truly personal and local, this is it. Thank you for one of our favorite memories of the trip!
