Come to my home and let yourself be intoxicated by the unmistakable scents of Sicily! I am Cesarina Fernanda, and together we will prepare eggplant caponata. With its intense aroma and sweet and sour flavor, caponata captures all the scents of the Sicilian summer in one dish: eggplant, tomatoes, onions, basil, and a few other ingredients will come together to offer you an extraordinary taste experience.
After savoring the Palermo-style caponata, our culinary journey will take us to Trapani with busiate, the famous homemade pasta, and then to Catania with the recipe for sugo alla Norma. We will finish on a sweet note with the scents of cinnamon, ricotta, and orange zest in a fragrant tart that will leave an indelible mark on your memories.

- We had the best time for our first cooking class experience! It’s what we were looking for in that it felt comfortable like going to someone’s house to hang out and eat while learning something new and about local culture. We learned how to make the best tiramisu and hand made pasta which I’ve never done, and it was better than the restaurants in San Francisco. We’re excited to host dinner parties with our new skills! Fernanda and her daughter Irene are so lovely. They also offered us a taste of homemade bread and olive oil which were also better than restaurants, and were so personable and helped us with rides. Highly recommend!
