Shared Experience
Your experience

We will stroll through the villa's vegetable garden, immersing ourselves in the olive and fruit trees. In the kitchen, we will prepare together zucchini alla scapece, a traditional Neapolitan appetizer; we will then follow with the preparation of fresh pasta for gnocchi, which we will dress with crispy eggplant paired with provolone cheese from a trusted dairy and fragrant basil. We will also discover an ancient traditional Roman recipe for doughnuts, prepared with a secret ingredient that makes them unique.

Each guest will have everything they need for the class with Francesca, our expert cesarina.

We were looking for something different, something special, and we found it. Unfortunately, during our trip, we faced a few unexpected challenges: a last-minute change in schedule and a serious family situation that made us feel far from home. Despite all of this, our wonderful Cesarina Francesca was truly a lifesaver. With her warmth, patience, and kindness, she handled everything with ease, making us feel comfortable right away. We had seen other similar experiences in Civitavecchia, but none stood out like this one. What made the difference was Francesca – her genuine smile and kind-hearted nature made this experience unforgettable. Her cooking is an embrace of authenticity and flavor, the kind of food that feels like home, comforting and full of love. Every dish is made with such care, and you can taste it in every bite. Francesca deserves to be truly recognized for her exceptional cuisine, which is infused with passion and heart. I highly recommend that anyone organizing these types of experiences give more spotlight to people like her, who offer something that goes beyond just a meal: a real-life experience. Warm greetings from Florida, Gregory and Betty.

We were on a cruise that stopped in Civitivacchia and wanted to have a local experience as we have already been to Rome. This cooking experience with Cesarine Francesca was amazing. She and her assistant Greta met us at a spot 15 minutes walk from the cruise ship pier, then a short walk to the local market area. We discussed our menu options, bought fresh fish, sausage and meat for the pasta sauce, some fresh vegetables, and then off we went to her home. It’s in a beautiful location high above the town and harbor. We made fresh pasta the old fashioned way, no machines, a special type of cookie for dessert (actually part of dessert) and prepared the seafood. We were warmly welcomed by her family, so much so that we quickly felt like we had known them for years. The food was amazing, but the hospitality and warmth was even more special. Please don’t hesitate to book this experience!

Some experiences stay with you forever, and our food tour in Civitavecchia with Francesca, our Cesarina, and her family was one of them. It wasn’t just a walk through the flavors and streets of the city—it was a journey into the heart of Italy, into the warmth that only truly genuine people can share. Each stop was something special, each taste told us a story. But what moved us the most was the kindness and passion that Francesca and her family put into everything they do. There was no pretense, just a heartfelt love for their land and a desire to share it. Leaving without them will be hard: we felt welcomed not as visitors but as friends. We’ll carry with us not only the flavors but also the emotions of a day that deeply touched our hearts. Thank you, Francesca, for giving us a memory we will treasure forever. – Jeff and Janice

Hi, I'm Francesca! Originally from Naples but now living in Rome, I welcome my guests to a villa nestled among olive and fruit trees in the countryside of Civitavecchia. "Those who cook with love nourish more than just the body" – this philosophy guides every dish I prepare. Together, we’ll share the joy of picking vegetables from the garden, while discovering stories and traditions dating back to the early 1900s, offering a unique and authentic experience.
