Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Private Experience
Your experience

We are Maria Elena and Nicola. Our passion for hospitality leads us to welcome guests into our home in the countryside, sharing our knowledge of local cuisine and letting them savour the specialities in a natural and welcoming setting.

We will cook a traditional menu: a welcome aperitif by the pool with fried sage leaves and crostini topped with Monterosso anchovies in oil and artisan butter. Next, fresh egg tagliatelle made to order right before your eyes and served with basil pesto from our garden. To finish, traditional tiramisu and espresso or coffee made in a traditional Italian ‘moka’ pot. The wine served will be strictly local to complement the menu.

This was one of our very favorite experiences on our recent vacation in Italy. We are a family of 5 (children are 16, 13, and 9) and we all loved the food, the setting, the hospitality, and conversation. Maria Elena and her husband were the best hosts. We loved sitting in their outdoor kitchen and learning about their culture. Maria Elena is an excellent cook. Our kids devoured her anchovies, fried squash blossoms, and homemade pasta. I have already recommended this experience to several friends.

I'm Cesarina Maria Elena, and together with my husband Nicola and our son Pietro, we run a home restaurant in our countryside house just a few kilometers from the city. My passion for cooking started as a child when my friends and I would cook desserts such as meringues and jam tarts to enjoy at picnic-style snack times. I began this venture to fully appreciate our home, our traditions, and our great love for our land and hospitality.
