I will be waiting for you at my home in Palermo to learn how to cook some traditional local dishes.

We will open the experience with an appetizer of crostini with pate and side dishes such as pickles (homemade by me), tomatoes, eggplant and artichokes. We will prepare fresh scialatielli with mussels, squash blossoms and pesto in the traditional way. At the end of the course it will be possible to sit down at the table to enjoy what we have prepared together, concluding with an iconic Palermo dessert such as fresh ricotta cream with decomposed cannoli and caramelized orange.

: A wonderful experience was had at Pina’s family home. From the moment we met we experienced such amazing warmth and kindness. Pina has a spectacular home with incredible views of Palermo, but the real delight was in her cooking. We were given an insight into proper home-made Italian cooking and had fun along the way. Pina, her husband and two of her sisters welcomed us for lunch afterwards to enjoy the fantastic food with local wine. : I spent a lovely morning cooking with Pina. She and her husband have a beautiful apartment in Palermo, I really felt like I was in Sicily. We made frittata, pasta busiate and sauce, and tiramisu. Pina served a fantastic artichoke pate and wine, of course, as we cooked. I’m embarrassed to admit that even though I am half Italian I had never made fresh pasta before.
