The Sant'Ambrogio market is the oldest food market in Florence and the one where locals continue to shop.
It is an authentic and interesting market where King Charles spent an entire morning when he was still a prince. Filled with local vegetables, meat and fish, it is a great place to start our class by buying some fresh ingredients and exploring the most interesting stalls.
After the market, we will walk to my house and start our cooking class. We will prepare, depending on the season, fried flowers or a bruschetta with seasonal ingredients, homemade ravioli and a dessert.

- This was an awesome experience! It doesn’t get more authentic than sharing a kitchen with a Florence native. Carlo is a very friendly and kind man but he is also a good teacher. I look forward to recreating these recipes at home. Highly recommend giving this a try. If you can, try to book in the morning when the market is less busy. The market you go to is an amazing spot and you can tell it is filled with locals. I would like to go back on my own to explore it more and would recommend you do the same.
- Carlo was great! Explained everything, was patient, cheerful, and an excellent teacher. Had a great time.
- Carlo was great!!! He opened up his home to us and taught us so much about making pasta. Our families are expecting a meal when we get home! Thanks Carlo!!
- My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful experience with Carlo. It was so much fun preparing a wonderful meal for all of us to enjoy together. Carlo was a wonderful host! And his cooking is fantastic! It was an experience we would certainly do again.
- Very much enjoyed our cooking class with Carlo. M Carlo first greeted us and iffered some delicious wine. He is very thorough to every step along the process. Taught us how to made the pasta dough, run the dough thru the pasta machine. My wife and I made raviolis from scratch, Carlo guided us every inch of the way. Also made an appetizer that was amazing and a tiramisu desert that was awesome, tremendous flavor. We felt very welcome at Carlos home, and made us feel like we were part of the family. We even met his very friendly dog, Neera. We highly recommend Carlo, and hope we have the chance to visit him again. Thank you Carlo 😊👍🥂

Cesarina from 2021Location: Florence Languages: English and Italian"I love good food and I have been cooking for a lifetime! For years, I have also been dedicated to the search for cuisine that is not only delicious but also health-conscious: low-cholesterol and low-sugar desserts, and homemade pasta made with stone-ground flours from small mills... In many cases, it is possible to cook great dishes with local ingredients, without compromising on health." However, this should not be an excuse for creating mediocre dishes: if they are not good, it's pointless for them to be healthy!
