Food Tour: discover the best places where to taste the finest local food & wine
A trip to the market in Greve in Chianti.
Greve, 6 km from my home, is the capital of Chianti Classico and the birthplace of Giovanni da Verrazzano. Its beautiful square, surrounded by loggias and traditional shops, hosts a non-food market every Saturday, while in a nearby square you can find stalls selling vegetables, cheese, cold cuts, bread, schiacciata, and spices. We will visit the two markets and then buy whatever the market has to offer, as it varies with the seasons. At home, we will prepare appetizers and pasta sauce using our purchases, finishing with a classic tiramisu. This experience allows you to immerse yourself in the daily life of the inhabitants of Chianti Classico and cook like them!

- We had the most wonderful time with Sara and her son, Lorenzo. From the moment we walked into their home, we felt so welcomed. This was so much more than a cooking class, it was an unforgettable experience. Sara and Lorenzo shared family recipes, cooking techniques, and you could truly feel the love and passion they put into every part of the class. We made some of the most delicious food we've had in Italy, and sharing the meal together afterward while learning more about their family and culture made the experience even more special. If you're considering booking with Sara, don't hesitate. We can't recommend this experience highly enough. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy, and we hope to return one day for another cooking class with Sara and Lorenzo. Thank you for such a warm, authentic, and unforgettable experience!

- Sarah graciously opened her home to our family. She and her son were warm and lovely and very patiently lead us through making pasta dishes. My kids had so much fun and the setting for dinner in the garden was beautiful! It was a great way to interact with locals and learn some new recipes to take home!
- I took this cooking class yesterday, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! We made two different types of fresh pasta, and they both turned out absolutely delicious. The step-by-step guidance made what seemed intimidating feel totally approachable and fun. To top it all off, we made tiramisu—which happens to be a personal favorite of ours—and it was spectacular. The teacher was fantastic, patient, and full of great tips. If you're on the fence about booking a class, just do it. You won't regret it
- This was such a warm and incredible experience! Sarah was so knowledgeable and lovely and welcomed us into her home like we knew each other from before! The market was really special too since we got to see what’s in season and we got to taste and buy some fun snacks! I highly recommend this for anyone who is curious about the local flavors and stories!
