Food Tour: discover the best places where to taste the finest local food & wine
A tour of the market in greve in Chianti
Greve, which is 6 km from my home, is the capital of Chianti Classico and the birthplace of Giovanni da Verrazzano. Its beautiful square surrounded by arcades and typical stores hosts the non-food market every Saturday, while in a nearby square you can find stalls selling vegetables, cheese, cold cuts, bread, schiacciata and spices. We will tour the two markets and then buy what the market offers, as it is different for each season. At home we will prepare appetizers and gravy for the first course using the purchases, then conclude with a classic tiramisu. This experience allows you to immerse yourself in the daily life of the people of Chianti Classico and cook like them!

- Our cooking class with Sarah and her son Lorenzo was so much fun ! We all enjoyed it! They were so welcoming and the dishes we made all came out delicious!! We will definitely do this again.
- Sara was the perfect host! The experience was more than just a cooking class, it was like having dinner with family. We had so much fun cooking together in her beautiful home! The pasta, the tiramisu, and the hosts were all exceptional! Thank you Sara for your warmth and gracious hospitality. This was the highlight of our Tuscan vacation!
- My husband, daughter and I spent a wonderful afternoon with Sara in her beautiful home. She is so warm and inviting and made us feel completely at home! We made and had a delicious lunch and topped it off with homemade tiramisu! This was the highlight of our time in Italy and can’t recommend Sara enough.
- We had the most magical experience with Sara in her gorgeous home! The food was delicious but we mostly loved her warm company and enjoyed sitting down for an incredible meal all together. One of the highlights of our 2+ weeks in Italy!
- From the moment we arrived, Sarah and her sweet son welcomed us with such warmth and kindness—it felt like stepping into a beloved family gathering rather than a class. They were the absolute best hosts we could have hoped for: incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and full of joy. Their home was beautiful and cozy, and they made every one of us feel like part of the family. We learned so much—not just about making pasta from scratch, but about Italian culture, tradition, and love for food. You could feel the passion in every step of the process. The entire experience was magical. We laughed, we learned, we ate (a lot!), and we left with full hearts (and bellies). I can’t recommend this enough. If you're looking for an authentic, heartfelt cooking experience in Italy, Sarah and her son are simply the best. 💛
