The Porta Palazzo market, "Porta Pila" for the people of Turin, is perhaps the oldest market in the city. Located above the Roman icehouses, near the Porta Palatina, it has entered contemporary literature as the "larder of the city."

This market abounds with rare delicacies to discover and does so in a multi-ethnic context well expressed by Pistoletto's work "Love the difference" that covers its ancient Tettoia dell'Orologio. The tour that Alessio and I propose will take you to discover its secrets while chatting about food, traditions and history. We will be inspired by the stalls, think of a menu together, cook it and enjoy it together.

We did the course with my 3 children. We all had a brilliant time and Sara and Alessio were fantastic hosts. I would really recommend the course.

Sara and Alessio were the prefect hosts - this is a MUST DO during your trip to Turin. We learned to make three types of pasta while sharing family traditions and stories. I guarantee this will be the highlight of our European vacation. Sara and Alessio shared many tips and tricks we will take home. After making the pasta, they served the meal on their private veranda with accompanying wine. It was pure perfection. Perfect for families… I was there with my teenage children and aging parents (mid/70s). Fun for all!!!!

Such friendly hosts. Very knowledgeable about the local food and easily accommodated my gluten intolerance. We were unfortunately late as we got lost but they were helpful at guiding us to the correct place and were very patient with us. It was fun to socialize with others.

Tradition is an innovation that has brought us this far. Starting from the local raw materials, I transform them following both the lessons from my mother and grandmother and the techniques learned through studies and travels. For me, cooking is primarily about conviviality, sharing, and exchange... Always accompanied by a good glass of wine! I prefer first courses and baked goods, smoked meats, and recently I have been producing homemade cured meats. My favorite dish... It's the next one I'll have the opportunity to try!
