Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Stuffed ravioli
  • Tagliolini
  • Tiramisu

I am Cesarina Renata and I love sharing traditional Sicilian and Italian recipes that have been passed down through the generations, making my guests feel right at home.

Together we will prepare fresh handmade pasta: ravioli stuffed with ricotta and parsley, and tagliolini with wild fennel pesto or Trapanese-style pesto. Before that, we’ll enjoy an aperitif with Etna wine, and to finish on a sweet note, a classic tiramisu. Put on your aprons: I look forward to seeing you!

Renata was very nice, her home felt very comfortable and the ingredients as well as the food we prepared were just amazing! Big recommendation!

Please look no further than this true authentic Sicilian cooking experience right in Renata’s cucinotta! We had the honor of meeting Renata, feeling so welcomed inside her home and kitchen with coffee, water, and a tour of her gorgeous terrace and rooftop with a view of Mt. Etna. We had a cooking class with two different pasta (tagliatelle with Sicilian pesto and ricotta lemon filled ravioli) and then of course a traditional tiramisu. Renata is so lovely, caring, and shared her hospitality with all of her heart. It was the first time we made pasta and tiramisu from scratch, and the best part is her teaching methods and skills to help us create the dishes. Towards the end, she set up an entire table of Italian tapas, wine, sparkling water, and served us the meal we prepared. She inspired us to create these dishes at home and printed out the recipes for us to take back to our own kitchen. We highly, highly, highly recommend this experience with Renata, she was so warm and inviting and we had great conversation the entire time. We will recommend her to any of our friends and family visiting Catania!

It was such a beautiful experience. Was made to feel so welcome. We learnt a lot from our lovely host Renata. Will definitely love to see her again for another class when we are next in catania.

Renata was amazing! She was so welcoming and a great cook! We did pasta alla norma being that we visited in summer. Great host, amazing cook and we had a great conversation. We felt like we were at home. Truly an amazing experience if you want to do something different but through a very local feel like experience.

My name is Renata and my love for cooking comes from a long family tradition that I have always carried forward with pride and passion. I run a bistrot-pizzeria in the city center, where I take care of organization and menu creation, always aiming to combine flavor, authenticity, and creativity. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing with them what I love most: cooking as a moment of connection and togetherness. That is why I have also chosen to open the doors of my home, just a few steps from the market, a lively place full of inspiration. Here I love welcoming my guests to cook together, have fun among aromas and authentic flavors, and then enjoy the traditional dishes of my homeland in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
