As we indulge in the beauty of the sea from the olive grove, I will reveal the secrets of our spice pesto. I will tell you its fascinating history and the traditional method of getting the perfect flavor. Then, I will show the two ways to make pesto: traditional or modern, mortar and pestle or electric blender. There will be no shortage of my tips for storing pesto optimally.
And after preparing our pesto, we will enjoy it with classic bavette. The experience lasts about two hours, during which you will be refreshed with cool water and a glass of some of the best wine from our local wineries.

- Barbara and Stefano were awesome! The view was breathtaking. First off, it’s not usual to dine with locals nevertheless have them teach you a generational recipe with up in this part of riomaggiore. We made pasta with a few different types of pasta, tiramisu, and incredible salad. There dogs Anna and Julie were so sweet. Stefano and Barbara were masters at using local ingredients paying attention to detail about flavors, quality, freshness, texture and orientation of the food. I would definitely do it again just to see them and enjoy the view. Thank you Barbara and Stefano
- This is the best cooking class I’ve ever taken. Barbara’s home is situated in Riomaggiore on the hill with a gorgeous view of the ocean! You get to cook, drinks wine and look at the ocean for hours. Barbara will text you before hand to help you navigate to the house. We made home made tiramisu, pasta and bruschetta. Best food my husband and I have ever had. This experience was better than exploring the town and Barbara will teach you about Italian culture and feed you until you cannot eat anymore! After we took the ferry to a few ports and had a wonderful day!

- We had a lovely evening in the beautiful home of Barbara & Stefano. The food was delicious and we went home with many recipes. 10/10, absolutely recommend doing this to add a special evening to your vacation in Cinque Terre!
- This experience exceeded my expectations. Barbara and Stefano were so fun and knowledgeable, and the variety of dishes we made were all delicious and each prepared with just a few ingredients. The short hike to their home is also part of the experience. I stayed in Vernazza and took the train to Riomaggiore for the afternoon. Definitely recommend!

I was born in the Gulf of Poets, to a Sardinian mother and a Genoese father, and spent my childhood with my beloved grandparents. We decided to open the doors of our house, located on the terraces of the Cinque Terre above Riomaggiore, to share our passion for cooking and local culture.
