Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience

Set amongst the Chianti hills with breathtaking views, I look forward to welcoming you to make pizzas and schiacciata with sourdough starter together. We’ll knead the dough and then roll out the pizzas to top them with traditional ingredients: pecorino, prosciutto, seasonal vegetables and olives. One pizza will definitely be vegetarian. We’ll also make Tuscan schiacciata to enjoy with traditional cured meats. To finish, we’ll make tiramisu. All whilst enjoying the view from my garden and sharing a taste of authentic Italian home life. Dogs are welcome – they’ll keep my dog Tosca company whilst we’re kneading the dough!

Our Focaccia class with Sara and Lorenzo was an incredible way to spend our last night in Italy. This was the class we chose for a honeymoon activity, and I’m so glad we picked it. They were extremely knowledgeable about cooking and the local region. Very interesting and fun people to talk to. The focaccia was easily the best we have had. My favorite was the sausage and cheese focaccia which was a recipe Sara created herself. It was a great challenge and learning experience for us, and was funny to see how effortlessly Sara handled the dough. I can’t imagine a better class to have joined, the view at her house is also awesome. Thank you very much Sara and Lorenzo!

We had the most wonderful time with Sara and her son, Lorenzo. From the moment we walked into their home, we felt so welcomed. This was so much more than a cooking class, it was an unforgettable experience. Sara and Lorenzo shared family recipes, cooking techniques, and you could truly feel the love and passion they put into every part of the class. We made some of the most delicious food we've had in Italy, and sharing the meal together afterward while learning more about their family and culture made the experience even more special. If you're considering booking with Sara, don't hesitate. We can't recommend this experience highly enough. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy, and we hope to return one day for another cooking class with Sara and Lorenzo. Thank you for such a warm, authentic, and unforgettable experience!

Sarah graciously opened her home to our family. She and her son were warm and lovely and very patiently lead us through making pasta dishes. My kids had so much fun and the setting for dinner in the garden was beautiful! It was a great way to interact with locals and learn some new recipes to take home!

I took this cooking class yesterday, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! We made two different types of fresh pasta, and they both turned out absolutely delicious. The step-by-step guidance made what seemed intimidating feel totally approachable and fun. To top it all off, we made tiramisu—which happens to be a personal favorite of ours—and it was spectacular. The teacher was fantastic, patient, and full of great tips. If you're on the fence about booking a class, just do it. You won't regret it

I love rediscovering my mother's recipes and preparing traditional Tuscan first courses. I have my own sourdough starter and make bread, pizza, focaccia, rolls, flatbreads, and breadsticks, all at home using various types of flour. I also make vegan dishes, but the traditional ones that you wouldn't expect to be vegan. My cooking is rustic and simple, with an eye on sustainability. Additionally, I make pantry cakes and traditional sweet leavened baked goods.
