Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience

What’s more rewarding than creating something with your own hands?

Hi, I’m Cesarina Rosa, and together we’ll discover the secrets of the art of pizza and traditional Neapolitan cuisine. We’ll begin with an iconic appetizer: pizza marinara, a true symbol of simplicity and flavor. Then we’ll move on to a great classic of Campanian tradition, pasta allo scarpariello, and finally end on a sweet note by preparing together the timeless tiramisù, one of the most beloved Italian desserts in the world. Everything will be accompanied by a good glass of wine and stories about the city that hosts us—anecdotes, curiosities, and secrets that only a true Neapolitan can share—so you can enjoy a warm, convivial, and unforgettable experience.

Rosa and Sean provided a wonderful experience for my wife and I making our first trip through Italy. It was very nice to understand the recipes and techniques from Rosa in such an intimate setting. We cooked two types of pizza after making the dough and spreading the ingredients, we made a sauce for a pasta, and made a tiramisu. Sean was a great translator and conversationalist and we really enjoyed the experience. After cooking they brought us up to their rooftop terrace in the center of town by the university to have dinner and more conversation. I am very happy to have chosen them and am extremely satisfied with our experience. I will recommend the experience to any friends that I know are coming into the city of Naples. They took pictures of us making the food, which is also fun to look back on. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

Fantastic evening of making pizza and conversation. Well paced evening. Rosa did a fantastic job of explaining the steps, uniqueness of ingredients, and different types of ingredients. Very relaxing evening. Enjoying freshly made pizza, calzone, and great conversation on the rooftop terrace garden was a highlight of the night. Rosa directions to the class were spot on! Do be forewarned, there's several flights of stairs to get up to the class, no issue unless you have mobility concerns.

Rosa (and Sean!) was a fantastic guide. Not only did I get to try great food at all their favourite places, they also gave me so much information about the history, the architecture, and the people of Naples. They were very willing to tailor the tour to my interests, and were so easy to get along with. They even made sure I got back to my hotel safely! I had a great time and gave fallen even more in love with Naples because of them!

Rosa and Sean were exactly what we were looking for in hosts for a cooking experience in Naples. Warm, inviting, incredibly knowledgeable about Naples, and food and have us great suggestions about what to do and see in Naples and the surrounding areas. We enjoyed that it was not just an instructional on how to cook but more importantly Rosa shared knowledge and expertise around the ingredients that were being used, how and where to find them, and their history and importance to Italian and Neapolitan culture. 10/10 would recommend Rosa (and Sean) if you are looking for a relaxed, inclusive and thorough cooking experience in Naples!

For me, cooking means sharing: I love cooking for others and creating moments of togetherness. Originally from Avellino and Neapolitan by adoption, I’ve learned to combine my family traditions with the energy and vibrancy of the city. Ragù, genovese, pastiera, pasta and potatoes, caprese, escarole pizza, tiramisù, clams (and much more — the list would be endless!) are never missing from my table!
