Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience

Would you like to discover the secrets of Neapolitan pizza? At my home, you can enjoy an authentic cooking experience where I'll introduce you to one of the pillars of Campania's culinary culture, famous throughout the world. Like any good person from Campania, pizza is one of our favorite dishes, and I'll share with you my personal recipe, handed down from generation to generation.

We'll start with a typical traditional appetizer, prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The main course will be Pizza Margherita, which we'll top with tomatoes from my own garden, fresh basil, and, most importantly, fresh mozzarella. Finally, we'll make a traditional Italian dessert to conclude our experience. This will be an opportunity to learn the tricks and secrets of pizza making!

Francesca was absolutely amazing! She started off by picking us up at our hotel and greeted us with a smile and friendly conversation the whole drive to her home. Her home is absolutely lovely, she told us about the history of the land, and while the sun was setting she had us pause our cooking to take a picture of us outside. Aside from all the consideration Francesca showed us from a non-cooking perspective, her cooking skills are incredible. Francesca prepared for our cooking class by boiling potatoes, shredding cheese, and making the sauce and pesto. I have dairy sensitivity and Francesca prepared lactose free cheese and lactose free ravioli stuffing to ensure I would be able to eat the food we were making. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable with what I was eating. Francesca taught us how to make a delicious meal including ravioli, gnocchi, tiramisu, and also provided us with cocktails and wine. One of her family members, who was also beyond kind, helped us learn how to cook our food as well. We then got to sit down and eat the delicious food we had cooked with our lovely host. While we were cooking we were listening to music and talking the whole time. It was the BEST part of our vacation to Italy. Francesca is truly the kindest, most caring, helpful, and considerate host, and let’s not forget a fabulous chef! After dessert, Francesca then drove us back to our hotel and wished us well. If you have the opportunity to do a cooking class with Francesca, make sure you take advantage of a once in a lifetime, unforgettable experience!

Once In a Lifetime Experience -

Our cooking experience with Francesca was THE highlight of our trip. From the moment she picked us up, she made us feel completely welcome and at home. Her warmth, bubbly personality, and genuine hospitality created an atmosphere that felt less like a class and more like spending time with good friends. Francesca is incredibly passionate about what she does, and that passion shines through in every part of the experience. She was patient, encouraging, and an excellent teacher, taking the time to explain each step and helping us learn so much about making authentic pasta and tiramisu from scratch. We left not only with delicious recipes, but with a much deeper appreciation for Italian cooking and culture. One of the most special parts of the experience was how personal and family-oriented it felt. We had the pleasure of meeting her daughter, and her assistant was also a family member, which made the entire experience feel even more authentic and welcoming. Their kindness and generosity made us feel like we were part of the family for the day. Francesca went above and beyond by picking us up and dropping us off, and every detail was thoughtfully planned. If you’re looking for an authentic, memorable, and heartwarming cooking experience, we cannot recommend Francesca highly enough. Thank you for sharing your home, your family, and your love of cooking with us—we will never forget it.

    Amazing Experience with Francesca -

Maria Francesca gave us an amazing experience on learning to make gnocchi, ravioli and tiramisu. She explained things well to us and walked us through each step. Maria Francesca's bubbly personality helped make the class a fun experience and a gracious host. Her offering to come pick us up at our hotel to take us to her house was an added bonus, especially since her house is a bit remote from where we were and hard to find. Since there were six of us she enlisted a family member to help transport us all to and from her home. We definitely tested her skills as we were the largest group she has ever had. It was a learning experience for her to have a group that large. Time management was the largest challenge because of that. My recommendation would be for her to have a handout with the recipes for the gnocchi, ravioli and tiramisu. And this is the reason I only gave 4 stars. If I could give an extra 1/2 star I would because Maria worked with us after the fact to get us recipes via messaging app. We would definitely recommend Maria Francesca to anyone to do a pasta class with. And if we ever go back to that region we would definitely try and book her again with her teaching us how to make some different pastas.

Maria Francesca was fantastic! She picked us up and took us to her home, was well-prepared for our group, helped us make great pasta, and made the night super fun.

This is by far one of my favorite things we did on our trip to Italy! It was lovely getting to meet a local cook and see her home and talk to her. We were with Maria Francesca and she was so kind and fun! She even picked us up and dropped us off which was a huge help! She also boxed up the leftovers for us. Maria Francesca answered all of our questions and made great conversation all while keeping careful watch of the food and preparations. I am a horrible cook but under her instruction we had the best dinner we've had so far! I would absolutely do this again with Maria!

"The passion for cooking was born when, back in Italy, my grandfather left me a garden in the hills of Sorrento that I started to cultivate with my brother. The fact that I have such fresh raw materials has led me to investigate how to cook them. My land offers genuine products that I grow in my garden and, thanks to the lemons of my citrus grove, I make a delicious caprese lemon. I love receiving guests, hospitality and innate in me."
