    Pasta alla Norma is a classic of Sicilian cuisine, originating in the city of Catania. This specialty was made as a tribute to the most beautiful opera by Catania composer Vincenzo Bellini: La Norma. A dish that celebrates Mediterranean flavors seasoned with tomato sauce, fried eggplant, basil, and grated Sicilian ricotta salata. We will put our hands to pasta by making fresh pasta with water and flour in Busiate or Cavatelli formats. This tasty and rich dish will be accompanied by a glass of Sicilian wine.

    I am Marilù, your Cesarina in Catania. I look forward to cooking together and letting you taste a variety of traditional dishes that I prepare with love. We will get our hands dirty and make fresh pasta together using fresh and genuine ingredients purchased directly at the open-air market in Catania. Guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in all stages of dish preparation. My specialties include egg ravioli and tagliatelle, busiate and cavatelli (Sicilian fresh pasta), scacce, scacciate, and focaccias. My standout dishes are eggplant Parmesan and Sicilian-style caponata. To end on a sweet note, we cannot miss tiramisu, a dessert loved by all, as well as traditional Sicilian sweets: lemon or melon ice and sesame nougat.
