Honestly could not recommend Daniella more! It truly felt like we were cooking with our Nonna. Daniella made us feel so at home and comfortable and we just never wanted it to end. The food was exquisite and now we have a little piece of Italy to take home with us. It is an experience I will never forget. An absolute core memory for myself and my partner. We signed up for Daniela's class hoping to come away with a small taste of Italian life and introductory cooking knowledge, but what we experienced far exceeded our expectations. Daniela welcomed us warmly and was masterful in connecting our group of strangers with questions, stories, and hands-on group participation. We quickly forgot that this was an experience we had paid for as she seamlessly brought us into her rhythms and treated us like we were her own relatives. We soon also forgot the time and settled into a night of laughter, cooking, and eating. My advice to anyone looking at this experience, book with Daniela if you want to feel like you just met your long-lost Italian grandmother. Do not book it if you are on a tight schedule looking for a quick exchange-like experience and need your experience to fully wrap up in the time specified. This was a bright highlight in our Europe vacation that is worth slowing down for.

The city of La Spezia is located practically on the border between Liguria and Tuscany. It is the ideal starting point to visit the splendid Cinque Terre and other characteristic villages in the area, such as Lerici and Porto Venere. With the sea in front of the city and the mountains behind, it is fascinating to admire it from above from San Giorgio castle, and experience its unique flavor through its culinary offerings, which reflect a combination of land and sea, evolution and experimentation. Seated around Daniela's table, you’ll experience a procession of traditional recipes. Our Cesarina offers the classic cuisine of La Spezia, the result of the fusion of different traditions from the neighboring regions. Daniela's prepares her dishes using simple ingredients. However, once combined, they give life to both strong and delicate flavors at the same time, recipes like 'sgabei' – raised bread dough that is cut into strips, fried, stuffed with cheeses or locally cured cold cuts, 'muscoli' (mussels) in a variety of versions and, of course, an absolute must, 'pesto' (sauce made from basil).
