Hands in dough and rolling pin!

Don't worry if you have never made pasta by hand, simple yet ancient gestures handed down from grandmothers and mothers will make you discover that it is easy. We will prepare three different types of pasta, even learning how to use a rolling pin. It will be fun and relaxing, and using old family recipes we will season these pastas with ingredients typical of my land where the volcano Etna transforms simple foods into extraordinary in color, aroma and flavor. Among tales of dominations, traditions and legends we will taste together what we have prepared.

This was BY FAR one of our top experiences in Sicily. Antonella was an amazing guide, treating us to food, locations and information we would never have gotten otherwise. Beyond highly recommend. Antonella went above and beyond making our visit to Catania a trip of a lifetime.

Antonella is such a wonderful woman and cook! She welcomed me and my 12 year old son into her beautiful home in Catalina. She was very accommodating and thoughtful. She had an entire meal planned and smartly prepped some of the things that would take the longest (drying eggplant and frying it). We made busiati pasta and a long Sicilian macaroni pasta. We also made some amazing roasted red pepper/olive appetizer and a pecceriono onion appetizer (using olive oil from her brother’s trees!) The pasta we sauced two ways: a tomato sauce and a pesto (made with almonds, basil, cherry tomatoes, garlic, etc). Both were excellent. It was exchanging stories and learning about her culture.

Had a private class with Antonella and she made us feel like part of the family. Exceptional food and learned a few tricks. Her house itself is like a museum.

Great Experience  - May 2023

Antonella is a wonderful host! We enjoyed it very much learning to make pasta. The dinner with her family was Perfect and so nice! Grazie mille!

Wonderful experience with a wonderful host! I learned so much going through the market and history of Catania on the way back to cook. Antonella graciously opened her home and taught me how to make hand-made pasta along with other traditional dishes. I would recommend this experience to everyone.

"I have always considered hospitality something important, a source of personal growth and development, through cultural exchange that can also pass through food. I have always loved cooking, since my adolescence, here in my home, inside of a mid-19th century building in the historic center of Catania, a city that with the beauty of its baroque, its climate, its lava soil gives the products a great flavor.
