Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Fresh pasta (tagliatelle or farfalle) with a seasonal sauce
  • Tiramisu

Enjoy an authentic experience amongst the flavours of Naples! We’ll start with a visit to a bustling local market: amongst colourful stalls and the aromas of the region, we’ll go on a culinary shopping spree, choosing the day’s ingredients, fresh bread and traditional taralli. We’ll then head up to my kitchen with panoramic views in Posillipo for an aperitif overlooking the Gulf, with chilled wine and local produce. In front of the large floor-to-ceiling window, we’ll get our hands dirty making tagliatelle or elegant handmade farfalle, served with a sauce made from seasonal produce chosen together. We’ll finish by preparing the classic tiramisu. Finally, we’ll enjoy it all on the terrace overlooking Capri and Vesuvius. A true journey into Neapolitan life!

My girlfriend and I spent an afternoon cooking with Maria and her son in a relaxed home kitchen overlooking Naples. We made tiramisu, gnocchi, ravioli and tagliolini, but it felt less like a class and more like cooking with old friends. After we ate, we sat outside and chatted for hours. Truly felt like at home. If you want authentic Neapolitan cooking, stunning views and a warm, generous host, book with Maria. Do not hesitate.

Maria’s hospitality started the moment she picked me up at my hotel. She was flexible and tailored the experience to my interests, starting with a visit to a local market far from the tourist crowds. She welcomed me into her home like family, and we had a great time making two dishes together. We then enjoyed wine, homemade food, a beautiful sea view, and time with her family around the table. It was so much more than a cooking class—it was a wonderful way to experience the real Naples. And Maria even made me a little photo booklet afterward! Highly recommended.

Amazing host! Very welcoming and lovely conversationalist too. I got lots of small tips that I would never have learned elsewhere. Highly recommend!

Wishing I could eat with this sweet family once a week! If you want an authentic Italian cooking class/experience, this is it. Maria was so welcoming & made us feel right at home! In the middle Of a very busy trip to Europe, it was nice to slow down & have a home cooked meal with a family. She also communicated very well prior to the class. Her and her family explained everything we were cooking & me and my husband had a blast! The tiramisu was some of the best I’ve ever had! The view from where you eat on the balcony is beautiful as well. If you’re traveling to the area, I 100% recommend doing this cooking class experience

The kitchen is the heart of my home, always filled with aromas, laughter, and people gathered around the table. I love traveling and discovering the world, but it is in my Neapolitan kitchen that I truly feel at harmony. I enjoy cooking traditional dishes such as lasagna, pasta with potatoes and provola, or pastiera, but I also bring to the table flavors discovered during my travels. I love vegetables and natural products: I grow a small vegetable garden and make bread using my sourdough starter. I have fun preparing appetizers, first courses, and anything that involves leavening—my signature dish is a braided brioche filled with local cured meats and dairy products. For me, cooking means sharing: every dish tells a story, a place, and above all, the love for the people around me.
