Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience

In this cooking class we will learn a traditional dish: vitello tonnato, a quintessential Piedmontese dish. The original recipe does not call for the use of mayonnaise. All the ingredients are cooked together with the meat, which releases its intense flavor, and are then reduced to a flavorful cream. A recipe from our family tradition contained in an ancient cookbook. After a small appetizer, we will taste together our recipe, a first course typical of Piedmont and a dessert.

Gabriella was a very gracious host. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and her showing us the preparation and helping to put it together. It was a highlight of our trip.

Gabriella and Fausto are very welcoming and friendly to invite you into their home. The cooking class itself is fun and practical, whether you are an experienced home chef or never cooked before. Gabriella gives good instructions and lets you do the ‘work’. There is not a single dull moment. After the preparations and cooking, you get to eat the pasta’s you prepared yourself and it is delicious! Gabriella even packed up the left overs for us to take with us! Thank you for this amazing experience.

One of the most memorable experiences in Italy! Gabriella was a gracious host and an amazing and patient teacher, especially for hosting 3 Americans and a Swede who all don't speak Italian! We had so much fun learning to make local dishes and learning so much about local wine from her equally gracious husband! We even got to catch the sunset from their cozy home! Highly recommend for anyone visiting Lake Maggiore!

"The kitchen has fascinated me since the child, I followed carefully mom to the stove trying to learn all her recipes. Mine is a 360 degree cuisine that enhances my region, Piedmont. With my partner, wine connoisseur, who follows me in my creations, we prepare delicious dishes that respect the tradition with particular attention to the research and selection of ingredients."
