Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Grandma's cavatelli pasta (Sorrento-style gnocchi)
  • Migliaccio cake (semolina cake)

On the occasion of this cooking class, I open the doors of my home in Naples, where I can’t wait to welcome my guests and share a true family-style experience with them. Together, we’ll discover how to prepare gnocchi, the iconic dish of the Italian Sunday—one that smells of home, generous tables, and tradition.

Through this experience, you’ll learn how to make them like a true Cesarina, following the teachings of my grandmother of Irpinian origin, guardian of time-honored gestures and recipes passed down from generation to generation. After learning all the secrets of gnocchi (or cavatelli), we’ll move on to preparing dessert: Migliaccio, the traditional sweet made during the Carnival season. All of this will unfold amid laughter, stories of Neapolitan life, and a good glass of wine.

An Unforgettable, Authentic Culinary Evening in Naples! Our cooking workshop with Rosa and her boyfriend was hands-down one of the highlights of our trip to Naples. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were welcomed with such genuine warmth and hospitality that we instantly felt at home. Rosa guided us through cooking three delicious, original recipes. These weren't your standard tourist dishes, but beautifully thought-out meals made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. They were unique and flavorful, yet simple enough that we can't wait to recreate them at home! What made it extra special was how accommodating Rosa was with our dietary requirements. She managed to adapt the dishes perfectly without compromising on flavor, ensuring the entire group had an absolutely delicious meal. Throughout the evening, Rosa shared wonderful family stories about cooking and eating, and she even used several ingredients sourced straight from her mother and grandmother. It added such a beautiful, authentic touch to the experience. Between the cooking and the eating, we were served a lovely aperitif to keep the good vibes flowing. To top it all off, we enjoyed our self-made dinner out on the gorgeous rooftop terrace, watching the sun set over Naples. What an incredible evening! Thank you so much, Rosa, for your amazing care, hospitality, and the wonderful company. It was an absolute wonderful experience that we cannot recommend highly enough!

For me, cooking means sharing: I love cooking for others and creating moments of togetherness. Originally from Avellino and Neapolitan by adoption, I’ve learned to combine my family traditions with the energy and vibrancy of the city. Ragù, genovese, pastiera, pasta and potatoes, caprese, escarole pizza, tiramisù, clams (and much more — the list would be endless!) are never missing from my table!
