    An old tradition that is repeated every year in many families in Sicily. There is no better satisfaction than tasting all year round the intense taste of fresh summertime tomatoes. It is essential, however, to follow a few rules well.

    In this experience you will learn how to make tomato sauce following an old recipe from Nonna, how to choose the ideal tomatoes for prepping sauce, cooking in the pot and importantly storage to enjoy it whenever you want.
    We will end the experience as tradition dictates with a spaghetti with the freshly made sauce and lots of basil. A surprise awaits you at the end of the experience!

    Alice's place was lovely to cook in. The dishes we prepared were easy & fun to make. We made plenty for our meal together, which was filled with laughter & wonderful conversation. It was also an informative and tailored to my taste class. Would recommend this class to all people, not just vegetarians!!!

    Alice and Francesco were both fantastic teachers and chefs, sharing their knowledge of food science, Sicilian cuisine, and local history with us. The dishes we made were amazing - very authentic and filling, but also healthy with lots of fresh local veggies.     "I was passionate about cooking and food since I was a child, accomplices grandmother who loved to cook and the whole family who loves to eat well. I therefore decided to pursue a university career in the field of gastronomy. I have faced a multidisciplinary and holistic path that has treated the world of food at 360 o'clock. I love cooking for my family and for others, starting from the choice of recipes and the selection of ingredients. I like to experiment and I'm particularly passionate about pastry and leavened foods. I do research on ancient cookbooks and asking around, especially older ladies, their family recipes. Sicily, like all Italy, has an invaluable gastronomic heritage, whose recipes and preparations vary from house to house, not only between cities and provinces. This gives the palate the opportunity to enjoy the same traditional dishes with different ingredients, techniques and stories."
