Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Polenta and Veronese soppressa
  • Risotto with Valpolicella wine
  • Apple cake (fogassin co i pomi)

Scents and Memories of Home. We’d like to offer you a menu that evokes family, our happy childhood and traditions passed down by our dear grandmother. We’ve captured the truest flavours of our region in a typical winter menu, to make you feel right at home straight away. The starter: hot polenta and local soppressa – a timeless combination. Next, we’ll try our hand at cooking Valpolicella red wine risotto. And finally, dessert: apple cake, known in the local dialect as ‘Fogassin co i pomi’, just like the one our grandmother Teresa used to make for us – soft and fragrant.

Cesarina from 2026Location: Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella (VR)    Languages: Italian, English, German
We are Thomas and Martina, two cousins who grew up together in the hills of Valpolicella, united by a passion for hospitality, cooking, and the traditions of our region. We love welcoming guests and sharing the authentic flavours of our land. In the kitchen, we enjoy preparing traditional recipes, experimenting with new flavours and, above all, working with dough: pizza, focaccia and other leavened products are among our specialities. We also place great importance on local wines, which we love pairing with our dishes to enhance their flavours. Through our experiences, we aim to make you feel at home, sharing moments of conviviality, good food and our passion for Valpolicella and its traditions.
