Let's get to know the world of focaccia and schiacciata. Together we will make the focaccia dough and then make three versions: plain, with pecorino cheese and sausage, and a vegetarian version based on the seasonality of the vegetables. I will explain the different types of yeast and flours and share with you the secrets to making it to perfection at home. We will then make tiramisu using Grandma Eliana's recipe. I will welcome you to my home in Chianti, near Florence, in a beautiful garden from which to admire fantastic sunsets. Dogs are allowed, they will keep my Tosca company. On request we can make an entirely vegan menu. I am waiting for you!

This was one of my top two experiences during 2 weeks in Italy! Sara and her daughter Viola were welcoming and so interesting and fun to spend the morning with. Sara had selected dishes consistent with what we had requested. The class was organized and timed perfectly, although we regretted having an afternoon event scheduled that was time critical - we would have loved to stay longer. Sara had selected 4 unique dishes that are not served in Italian homes or restaurants in America so we experienced new and delicious foods. The dessert was tiramisu-like but with a different twist- it was very good. The class took place in their lovely home and we enjoyed the delicious food during lunch with them. As a bonus they helped me practice my Italian language which I appreciated. I highly recommend cooking class with Sara!

Wonderful experience. My friend and I had a private cooking class in Sara’s home. We enjoyed the focaccia and cheese appetizers she prepared. Then, we had the best time learning how to make two kinds of crostini, gnudi and tiramisu. Sara and her daughter welcomed us into their home in Greve. Sara’s well planned lesson with local ingredients was so much fun. She is a skilled cook and we especially enjoyed chatting with her and experiencing a slice of life in a real Italian village and home. Perhaps the best part was sitting down together to enjoy our creations. Delicious! Don’t miss this opportunity.

I love rediscovering my mother's recipes and preparing traditional Tuscan first courses. I have my own sourdough starter and make bread, pizza, focaccia, rolls, flatbreads, and breadsticks, all at home using various types of flour. I also make vegan dishes, but the traditional ones that you wouldn't expect to be vegan. My cooking is rustic and simple, with an eye on sustainability. Additionally, I make pantry cakes and traditional sweet leavened baked goods.
