Private hands-on cooking class with pasta and tiramisu

Private Experience
Your experience
  • Ravioli "Caprese" (homemade pasta) with a delicate tomato sauce
  • Sorrento-style gnocchi
  • Tiramisù

Learn to prepare 2 fresh Sorrentine pastas and Tiramisù in this cooking class at my farmhouse, surrounded by a large garden with typical Sorrento terraces on multiple levels! We'll meet in Sorrento and then travel together to our home in Sant'Agnello, overlooking the Gulf. Here, my wife and I host culinary experiences with the mission of rediscovering Sorrento's tradition, perpetuating the welcoming hospitality typical of this land. For us, cooking is passion and creativity. Our menus are born from love for the region, local, and seasonal products. Near the kitchen is our garden, a place of great passion, where we grow aromatic herbs, citrus fruits, and most of the vegetables used in our menus.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening with Ivan! The venue was gorgeous...and the food - charcuterie, gnocchi, pizza, lemon dessert - all delicious. One of the best meals we had on our entire trip. It did take longer than the 2.5 hours listed, so just know to plan accordingly in case your time runs longer too. Be sure to check out the garden! Highly recommend Ivan and this experience.

My family of 7 and I had a cooking class at Ivan’s home and it was amazing. We made our own ravioli, gnocchi, and tiramisu while also being served wine and various small plates. Ivan and his wife and son were all very kind people and made the experience great. On top of the amazing food, the views from the dining table on the top patio were immaculate. Of our entire time visiting Italy (Venice, Sorrento, Rome) this was our favorite stop. I would recommend this place to everyone, and if you would like to stay overnight, his home is a bed and breakfast as well. Amazing experience and when I return to sorrento I will be coming back!

Our family of six had the most unforgettable experience with Chef Ivan at the Cesarine cooking school in Sorrento. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. Chef Ivan was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout the evening, guiding us step by step as we prepared two types of ravioli and the most delicious tiramisu we’ve ever tasted. His passion for cooking was infectious, and his instruction was clear and encouraging—perfect for both seasoned cooks and beginners. We enjoyed our handmade creations with local wine at the end of the evening, and every bite was a testament to the care and quality of the ingredients, most of which came from his own beautiful garden on site. The views from Ivan’s home were absolutely breathtaking and added an extra layer of magic to the entire experience. His assistant, Toni, was wonderfully personable and helpful, adding to the fun and relaxed atmosphere. We were also transported to and from the experience by Ivan’s lovely wife, Rosaria, whose kindness and hospitality truly completed the evening. This was a highlight of our trip to Italy and an experience we’ll treasure forever. Highly, highly recommend!

The experience with Ivan and Rosalia was amazing and the food was unbelievable. I would recommend this to anyone looking to learn how to cook a great Italian meal a from scratch. Ivan was knowledgeable and explained everything perfectly. He was also great to converse with about cooking and life in general!

Ivan invited my son and I into his family home and welcomed us like we were part of his family. From the moment Ivan’s wife picked us up in Sorrento, offered us a drink on arrival and then showed us how to make two pasta dishes from scratch and a tiramisu recipe that he was taught many years ago, it was the most amazing experience and recipes that I can make for my family and friends back in Australia. If you are after a semi private home cooking class, you must book in with Ivan because we learnt so many techniques and it was the best ravioli we have tasted on our trip through Italy so far.

Casale Guarracino, nestled in the lush hills of the Sorrentine Peninsula with breathtaking views of the Gulf of Naples, was born from our strong desire to embark on a journey of rediscovering Sorrentine culinary tradition and to offer our guests our deep-rooted sense of hospitality. We propose various menus crafted around local produce. Our favorite dishes include fresh pasta, ravioli or gnocchi, pizza, and desserts, particularly tiramisu.
