Cooking class: learn how to cook traditional & innovative Italian recipes from a local Cesarina

Shared Experience
Your experience
  • Tortellini (homemade pasta) in meat broth
  • Tortellini (homemade pasta) with Parmesan cream
  • Tenerina (traditional chocolate cake) with mascarpone cream

It is said that tortellini were inspired by Venus's navel, a symbol of perfection and harmony. In this masterclass, you will enter the heart of Emilian tradition, in a typical Bolognese house just a few steps from the historic centre of Bologna and the charming Sanctuary of San Luca.

Guided step by step, you will learn how to roll out the dough by hand and fill the tortellini according to the ancient technique, then season them according to two great classic variations: in broth and in Parmigiano cream. We will conclude on a sweet note by preparing a delicious and soft torta tenerina served with mascarpone cream. An authentic, convivial and flavourful experience, allowing you to take home not only a recipe, but a piece of authentic Bolognese cuisine.

Thankyou Laura, my son and I had an amazing evening learning traditional techniques for making pasta and tiramisu. We felt very welcomed and I'm excited to take what we learned back home. It was a fun night and thank you for bringing your friend to help with the English/Italian translation.

Great instructor. Very nice atmosphere. Best cooking class I ever attended. Highly recommend. In fact, do not miss this opportunity!

Calling it a "cooking lesson" diminishes the true value of this experience. The food is excellent (including an appetizer and a standing-ovation-worthy dessert! generously offered) but what makes the difference is the warmth and genuine smile with which Laura and her husband open the doors not to a kitchen but to a home where a dinner is prepared to be shared with the friendliness and joy of an evening among friends. It's worth more than the price you pay, it's truly priceless!!!

I had a very pleasant time with Laura. She is very kind and explains things very well. We prepared 3 types of pasta. I was lucky to share lunch with her family. I absolutely recommend this course. I’m not very good at Italian but for the French, I have to say: “go for it, it was great” 👍

My partner and I included this activity in our short stay in Bologna, and honestly, it was a perfect choice. You learn and have fun at the same time, with Laura and her family going above and beyond. Top-notch welcome, products of the highest quality, and Laura and her family were super welcoming and hospitable throughout the experience. Highly recommended.

I love cooking risottos, tagliatelle with ragù, carbonara, seafood pastas, as well as meat and fish prepared in different ways, and of course gratin vegetables and various desserts. I’m originally from Veneto, so I can also make baccalà, sweet gnocchi, and other delicacies typical of my region. I also enjoy “borrowing” recipes from other parts of Italy, especially Milanese risotto.
